Probably not. I expect they'll use the "restricted local distribution"-option, and use it at tradeshows and such.

That said, I'd love to see some good iphone demos. Its a good platform for demos with a good sdk, it has pretty standard stuff (opengles etc.) and a convenient distribution system through itunes (well ok, it's not what we're used to, but I think it would work well enough).

How do you make software for an iphone? I heard something about developing on an emulator as only signed software can run on the real hardware.

psonice: Up to them I guess, but what little text is there about the challenge/compo seems to read like it's going to be used for eyecandy for the company, which is fine, but Apple might not automatically approve of such things. Also, Gargaj has leading when it comes to the developer policy: when not aiming for App Store distribution, you can bend the rules quite a bit when developing your app.

actually, you'd need a mac rather than an iphone. The sdk has an emulator. Unless you want to code on a touch screen keyboard ;)
