A letter for kb
category: general [glöplog]
that's hardly "tracker-esque", though
Taktik (renoise developer) is usually open to suggestions (although generally he's community led) - Maybe you could ask him directly whether this feature could be made possible in the next version?
no need for requesting since its already possible :)
create the one and only vsti instance on instrument 1
and create several vsti aliases (to the same vsti instance) for every following instrument adjusting the midi channel it should use.

I demand a tracker that autogenerates samples and tracks.
Zplex: That's peanuts to create. Making it sound good though.. harder. :)
gopher: thanks, im gonna try it.. (dalezy might hump your leg now)
melw, let's talk about that later in the usual place on IRC :)
Smash: That's one of the reasons I sticked to Logic 5.5 for so long (and kinda still do), the possibility to wire the weirdest MIDI stuff really came in handy - I simply had to connect a "Multi Instrument" to the VSTi object.

Zplex: Try Saiko: http://www.aodix.com/products.html
kb: yea, reed always used cubase for the synth because it "just worked". unfortunately im too "musically challenged" to use anything but a tracker.
If you're planning on using a virtual machine on the mac, I'd go for vmware rather than parallels. I've used both, vmware has been solid, but parallels gave me a huge amount of trouble.
gopher, that's what i'm normally doing, still, v2 behaves utterly weird in renoise. =)
(when it comes to assigning sounds to the midi-chans, that is)
dalezy, uhm well ask kb then :)
afaik v2 uses midi program number for selecting the instruments. but i dont know how to set them from renoise manually ... perhaps selecting the program with your midi keyboard helps?

melw: i run buzz with plenty of vsts under parallels and it works properly. havent tried v2m though.
