Also, as ms2k+1 taught us, a demo compo with 30+ entries is basically unwatchable. :)

we are going to miss the deadline.

there has been some mean effort going on, certainly last week, to finish the demo. nevertheless the amount of work and lack of ideas caught up with us.

i'm sure there will be many quality entries and given our demo's current state, the competition will not suffer from our absence. we'll finish the production for an upcoming party, nvidia will be properly thanked in it as well.

thanks gloom, gargaj + posse for organizing this, and i'm honestly sorry we didn't make it.

well honestly i've had enough of party versions. it's just not good enough to release (and too short), the final would be so drastically different that it makes no sense.

I think the next few months other party's benefit alot from the 'not making the NVscene deadline' phenomenon..

It's probably a very good idea to make a party a week or two after NVision, because all the entries that didn't make the deadline would appear there.

i would love a "hey we got your shitty preview" mail at some point, the final version is being made as we speak, and will be uploaded asap. safe version up in 10-15min, and the final final at 21.00 CEST sharp.

how is the confirmation handled? Is the guideline demo recieved in good order?

sad to hear about all the non-happenings...i tried ( i can say "I" because i did it all alone in the end anyway ) and couldn´t do what i wanted,so in the end it got sth i had as a backup-plan...cubes and such...but at least i managed to do sth...and i could have done it in 2-3 days,if i would have had some more experience yet...
...so why didnt you ( = anywhom who didnt get his/her plan done) just put ANYthing together just to attend ?

makes me sad,but lemme tell you i´m not proud of what i put into the compo myself......but maybe that is because i´m a perfectionist normally...i NEVER can be satisfied with what i craft at all...won´t ever happen,no matter if its good already,theres always sth i dont like...beneath that.: i am not ready yet to do a PC-4K...

so dont feel attacked or sth,but...read some posts above: i started PC-Coding in January,including learning c++,DirectX,windows-Coding,Shaders,etc....

no prob at all...just try to submit sth to NVision 2009 then ;)

To join the trend, I'm a bit disapointed to tell that you won't see this boring flyby demo in the 4k-intro-compo:

Not releasing anything wasn't an option though, so I prepared a plan-b last night to have at least *something* to show.
- Which the organizers may feel free to dump by preselection.

I'm on the same boat as lazy-san. Couldn't make my original 4k fit, and didn't want to release it in the demo compo. So I started working on a fast entry early this morning :-)

ALL 4K INTROS ARE NOW TESTED AND RUNNING, TBC being the only one with problems, but mentor is commuting between the compo machine and his computer now to fix it :)
