category: general [glöplog]
See ya all tomorrow? :D

There is a reason why I always bring my 16 dB yagi antenna when I travel :)
blackpawn: I stopped paying for wireless when I discovered DNS tunneling :D
I see dns tunneling as our last resort in case repressive governments take over
ungh.. deadlines coming closer every hour,..
Will the seminars @ NVScene be recorded?
When is the 4k compo taking place? Will that be on a stream?
Yes, but not live.
Some people don't even bother to read the thread. *sigh*

oh noes, not live means chinese censorship!!!
So, we know it wont be live, when will the streaming be then? :) (Praying for wedensday evening, when I've finished work)
uh, arrived 8 hours ago after a 24h+ trip ... can't sleep atm :) cu at the convention center!
So, at the risk of being tarred and feathered, here is my current situation:
I've been working on a 4k based on raymarching 4d volumes. Thanks to the devkit, I ported it over to dx10, and by putting all the volume generation into shaders (with geometry shaders and render to volume slices), I've been able to save nearly 200 bytes(!) (Despite dx10 being less 4k friendly to setup. Although much cleaner, some stuff takes more work to do, such as drawing full-screen quads. My basic framework is pretty heavy, weighing in at 820-ish bytes). My problem, is that I currently need to perform a miracle and still shave off a whopping 1.5k. So right now, it's either the demo-compo for me, or continuing to work on it and possibly holding it off for another party that will use Vista (unfortunately, that probably means not Blockparty).
So yeah, bring on the pitchforks :-(
I really hope Nvision/Nvscene occurs again next year, since, barring any unexpected changes, it will fit nicely in my schedule and I will be able to attend.

Release as a demo!!
Nezbie: maybe some 4k experts attending nvscene would be glad to give you some technical (or tactical) advice ?
Nezbie: I will give you permission to borrow one of my mottos:
"miracles can and will happen"
If not, I think you should release as a demo. That was the deal, wasn't it? :)
Nothing is free.

Did the room got smaller or is it just me? :( It doesn't look like the pictures.
nezbie, make it fit. you can do it.
otherwise, demo. and make sure the people know it's a 5kb demo. it's not like many a 4k couldnt have won the democompo on their respective parties, had they all been thrown together.

Or make it a nosound 4k. Or just play a drone-sine wave. :)
come on people, its not 21:00 CET yet which is the first deadline
easy for you to say when all YOU have to do for 'your' demo is jabber about it
Mall-e: keep up the negativity you are really acting trustworthy :)
Anyway you would be surprised..

T minus twenty-six hours.
Imbusy: the question is how many hours before we in europe can see it all on demscene.tv ;-)
Demoscene.tv is currently filming seminars and doing interviews - at some point later today, they will put the first "flash report" online.
