bcnparty'11

category: general [glöplog]
Once time again bcnparty rocked totally! Because some changes in my life this year i wasn't able to be in the organization team as the other editions. That means that this year i had the oportunity to be at the event just as participant. Relaxed and talking with the people.

So i have to congratulate to all the orgo people, as always, the party was special. This time the present was a bcnparty pillow (the last year was a mat). The fast compos, the 2ndstage was a great idea and a great place, fucking good djsets by nork, spite making the results funny, a lot of good and great things that makes every year bcnparty a great party.

Before to write that i was thinking to write the good things and the bad things, but, who cares? the bad things are just rubbish.

Great felling, great people, every year more non-spanish people (come on guys! we have very cheap beer in spain ;)

About the prods, well, i had a lot of sourprises, dacube4 (dacube 2 in 4k), a demo done by an only girls group, good demos from newbies, a lot of only-one-week-work demos (but still interesant prods) like threepixels and stravaganza (congrats to both of them, you have a lot of power, but forget the fast prods and kick ass the demoscene with a good demo using all your skills!), minimalartifact was there too (ps, keep up with it, but improve it, i know you can), intro64k of concept (yes, they're still alive), mankind, asynkro, and the demo winner from RGBA (as i said, good start but i think you have to improve the audio and the felling of the demo), and well, i worked for they i the demo released, i'm talking about spontz, but i want to let you know that spontz did their first demo only one year ago.

But, overall, i honestly think that the productions quality level wasn't good enough (Boah missed this year :( ) and the number of productions was not enough as well, I think the spanish scene can be really better, maybe the next year. Spanish world domination, muhaha..

So that's all, congratulations to all the organizators, and specially to (though i know he don't mind that from me ;)) Jamque (main organizer). See you in bcnparty,100 ? :D

Now.. How the party was for you?

Well, I have been present at all BCNParty's editions since I am a part of the organization and have to say that this party has been "ACOJONANTEMENTE COJONUDA"! (Eh! what is the transalation for the text above?) and the best thing for my taste has been the Decathlon that has made me to have desire of doing something for the scene after more than 2 years without doing anything. A

pitty that many groups were tied by the party coding because I had liked that the whole party had overturned in this magnificent new competition in BCNParty that I hope will be repeated year after year.

I want to certify also the good feeling of the people who sits on your side to help you to finish something or who borrow you something you need to finish a compo... you know, the same of every year but better :P

What the party has lacked? More people and more time to enjoy it.

Thanks to all for making BCNParty as is.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had a great time; 2nd stage with the 'alternative' performances is a good idea. As always laidback, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. See ya next year and the other and the other and the other (you get the idea?)

BCN party is full of catching scene spirit.
I met some 'vet' sceners which didn't attend a party since years and there are rumours of several comebacks...
Come and feel it for yourself next year.

My sincere congratulations to the organizers. They keep improving the party edition after edition.

pero q bcn ha rulado fuerte novamente tio! :D

was abit disapointed not to be on top3 multichannel, but other then that the party ownezdRz0RrD

next year please give option of choice to play the tracks on chosen player please. xmplay raped garlick's madtracker chiptune. and tik's leads sounded odd too (we had only listened to it on IT and modplug)

oh yeh, option to listen to the whole prods more then once before voting would be nice too :)
abit hard to remember exactly how number 3 sounded after listening to 10.. :P

rating demo preferences on code/gfx/sound was really hard as hell but the results werent as fucked as i originallly thought they would be.

anyways, cool party. it almost seems like we went to barcelona to get new clothes :D
cheap entry and money came back on the prizes. the breakpoint orgas could and should learn a couple few things with you guys!

- nork's gig too loud
- jury voting volume too low

compo entries ruled! spanish scene rules!
we'll be there again next year for sure.

let us know when you wanna discover the portuguese scene nuestros hermanos ;)

invite only demoscene meeting in vila nova de gaia on late december, let me know if any you guys wanna show up for demoshow, cheaper+better beer and some portuguese scene love ;)

I have really enjoyed this party. The feeling between the sceners was great (no gamers, etc), and I really liked the idea of the Decathlon Compo.

Greets to the orgo, specially to Jamque, and all the sceners at BCN11.

Zonan: next time it won't be so easy :P

yeah! bcnparty still improving! I would have liked more having 4 days like past year but we had to compress a 4 days party into only 2.5. Lots of tension, party coding, .... but also lots of fun and laughings with great old and new friends.
We also enjoyed a lot the making of our first demo, and also suffered some lack of sleep but who cares? It's not so hard to make the music of a demo, code another one and make the music too, and participate in highquality, multichannel, beethoven and chip music, and gfx2D compo. Next year I'll make a wild, a 4k and 64k intro, and 3dgfx. Not to mention the fast compos, that I ofcourse will win.
My worlddomination starts at BCN XD

Cheers to all, bcn rulez

wait, wait... you mean they need to learn to give money to you. per default? :)

A shame I couldn't be there, seemed like fun. If I can mention one tiny little gripe: next year, please get your website properly sorted in a reasonable timeframe..."Flash-only website == bloody stupid idea from the start"-wise , that is.

First of all, I'd like to greet all bcn organizers for their excellent work; keep up the scene alive!!

The general ambient in the partyplace was great, the prods were very cool (congrats yero!), people were very kind and saturday night was great! I really had a good time and I'm sure I'll be there again next year.

Things I liked:
+People's mood
+Second stage
+C64 performance
+Audio synth conference
+Prizes are given in cash
+Great scene spirit
+Partyplace (near the train station, good sleeping room, good showers, good projectors and speakers!!)

Things I didnt like:
+Fast compos voting system (measuring people's claps is crap)
+Very few people celebrated halloween with us :P

Spanish scene, see you at next party!

shifter: the entry fee was half what we pay at breakpoint, the prizes were pretty much same quality/monetary quantity, alot less people present in bcn, same amount of compos, alot more clothes and merchandising thingies offered to visitors. i mean.. wtf something is defnitly wrong here and it aint the shuttle bus thats taking extra 20€ from each person. :P

so yes, in my book bcnparty orgas are #1. mad props and huge respect to them. :)
