3rd annual Intel Demo Competition
category: general [glöplog]
Ah, inque does a release for evoke? Maybe this competition will be worth to invest into a 64k intro again.

The Intel compo kind of messed up our schedule, but we're still planning to.
Pfieuw.. My part is done, now it's up to glow to finish the demo.
I think we're going sort of gold 1 minute before the deadline, true inque tradition. ;)

May I sleep now?
well i think the 30 seconds demo was a good idea :). 6 weeks is a bit short.

haha!
So, when will the demos be watchable/downloadable?
Tobi said
A = Deadlines for sending the demos so that the jury can select the other 4 (24th of April)
B = When we find out (5th of may)
C = Deadline for sending your NEW demo (30th of june)
D = Voting Deadline (1st of august)
E = award ceremony / Evoke (8th of august)
So I guess we have to finish / upload it by tonight !

Regarding the video capture, I wonder whether tonight means that the upload has to be complete. This might take a while.

See if you can spot a flaw in the plan :) It says when you guys have to deliver, and when the audience cannot vote any longer, but it doesn't say diddly squat about when they will be published.
I guess they'll get the demos some time today, check them, package them however they want for download/prepare some streaming videos, then launch the proper voting site. Perhaps they don't want to tie themselves down with all that, by having a deadline of their own ;)
Gloom : please be nice, I haven't slept muche recently...
Tobi said to me that the entries and videos must be online tonight. I'm guessing either at the deadline, or before he wakes up the next morning :-)
Anyways we're cutting it pretty close ourselves (still missing the last ~45 seconds of the demo, and need to do more syncwork)

I wonder how long it will take for the demos to appear for download? Maybe tomorrow already? Or at least later this week... Anticipation!
And will anyone crack under the pressure as the deadline looms and submit an OSDM production instead?
and will all the demos again receive thumbs down from a certain someone with "Capitalistic and elitistics pigs and swines" as the comment?:-)
will all the demos again receive thumbs down for beign "another 3d-flyby demo with no visual direction" ?
let say some instead of all :)
/me gives a piggy for all capitalistic and elitistics pigs and swines!
*crack*

Not if Pixtur is behind the wheel. :)
Besides, how many of the previous years Intel Demo Competition entries have been "boring 3d-flybys with no visual direction"?
I'm very curious to see just how much we will be outclassed by the other entry's :)
izard : I think you overestimate our enrty :)
izard: if your entry is just half as good as last year's evoke intro, you shouldn't be afraid.
gloom: I don't think nytric was to be taken serious. Btw: we only have one object, so there is not much to fly by :)
I am really anxious to the see the other entries.

Pixtur : yep this was not seriuous at all. I was thinking about the traditional comment for cocoon demos
