2012

category: general [glöplog]
I will be serious now. And as short as possible. So that you don't get bored and pass this.

I have a problem. I just read a book and manipulated my brain. I can't think of anything else for days. The guy tries to persuade me by telling me that it's not like the various stories, the thousands of neo-mythologies that try to mix up everything, conspiracies, aliens, etc. but are confusing everything more so that they will frustrate me and make me forget the subject. Of course he is also starting mixing and confusing things (but he doesn't have any aliens this time, I like this in a way because it's different and makes him more credible (but is he?). but he has at the end reptilians) but there are some interesting facts.

In a nutshell, the most credible facts that made me crazed about:

1) Are the numerous mythologies with striking similarities both about gods and stuff (even if they can just be taken in a symbolic manner, not as aliens or something) and some kind of biblical destruction that happened at least 2 or 3 times before. But not because of god/satan and shit like that, but because of some astronomical events causing massive flood and other destructive events on earth. The ancients tried even symbolically through the myth to warn us or describe the facts, through different religions. The author asks to see literally some of the myths and not just symbolically.

2) Scientific evidence (geological or other nature) that shows that some terrible destruction/flood might have happened several times in the past, either around 1500 BC or even before. The author (as all these authors) always show several examples and manages to persuade. But could all these be made up? So many amazings stuff with references to scientific research and stuff?

3) In a nutshell, there are theories about 2012. One "too amazing to be true" theory is that the orbit of another sun (solar system with planets) is getting very close (it's orbit reaches our solar system every 3600 years) and it is going to upset our solar system as it reaches near. The sun is a dwarf dark star he says, covered with a nebula or something, so it wasn't very visible. Ok it sounds silly :P. But he claims there are photos from the south pole astronomers and stuff which I can find there (and posted in random image thread), but how can I verify it's not something else? And there are data around there. NASA knew it years ago.

He claims in 2009 not just from south pole, but we common people can see it in our sky, the second sun. Hopefully I don't have to wait enough to see if it's another hoax or based on some true facts. Still not verifying the rest about the elite reptilians wanting to survive and sutff. Forget that..

And yet there is a dillema.

When some people read anything that sounds.. conspirational/paranormal/metaphysical, they instantly react and don't even waste a minute of their time. Well, most if not all of the time, those things (especially catastrophology) prooves a hoax. But I just get hooked by that. And the last one I read was the most credible and plusible explanation of some things.

But I have this thought. What if I get hooked by it and it doesn't happen? (which is good that nothing so bad happens). Will I feel like a fool?

Then the other thing. The only way through this mess of mythologies that all manage to sound plausible is to spend a lot of time to research myself. Not just read, but research. If I went to a skepdic site and read the debunk of this stories, I would still not call it research. Because I think skeptics today don't spend enough time on research because they don't really care and the only thing they care is to spend less than 5 minutes to find some anti-proof evidence and rest the case to their "win".

In a nutshell I don't trust either the believers and creators of such myths and the skeptics that are just trying to debunk and not waste their time more.

So the only think I can do is research myself. But the big dileema is: what if I spend and waste time for something that is not there? The book tells to not continue my regular life with hypnotic things and stuff, but go out and find the truth. But it's understandable that I need more to waste time to something, that at least it would be fascinating for me and waste of time for others. I'd like to get out from just reading paranormal stuff to researching them. But trully researching them (even doing trips to the places where things have happneed, not from the internet, not just from texts but firste xperience)

And the other big dileema: What will be the meaning of all this if there only 4 years out there? It's too late.

I am not afraid about me. I just stare in the city at what have we created as civilization and ponder if these will be gone away very soon?

I know, I am getting craze. Maybe I'll forget the subject and get back to code or something :P

And a lot of people waste a lot of time correcting people's misconceptions or kooky ideas about these things. Take a browse at http://skepdic.com/ some time.

Yes I know about skepdic, they do waste time. But waste time to debunk?

I don't know what to believe anymore..

For example that dude in the book has the famous photo of the giant skeleton excavated.

I was amazed by the skeleton then and was wow, is it true?

But then it was proved to be hoax, being just an entry from a photoshop competition and I am fine with that explanation because I went to the competition page.

And then I consider that this photo is a mockery. I consider that if anyone posts it to prove his strange theories then he must be not credible. And as I read the book I see this photo. And I loose the feeling of credibility. My feelings are going ping pong..

And then he says that he knows about the photoshop competition explanation and that the competition page was made after the release of the iniital photos and in his job is using photoshop for years so he know which photo is real and which manipulated. And there is an original photo excavating not a giant but some random bones which people claim it was used as a basis to manipulate the hoax. But he says to his experience of photoshop the "original" was manipulated and not the giant one.

And then my belief/disbelief system goes from ping to pong and back again.

I don't know what to believe :(

But why do I care?

Also the problem with me is that I don't research (or don't have time to research?) further and anything I read can easilly persuade me. I know..

It's sad.

optimus, truth mixed with a good spice of lies for entertainment and as mentioned sales of new age hokey, like that whole Ian Xel Lungold thing. its great entertainment, and it should be frantically spread all over the net.

Geological evidence that there has been a flood? i dont doubt that for a minute, one among many inbetween the astroid bombardments, planet killers, Sun rays and what not. Earth is a fierce place, it is only human arrogance that makes us belive that our place here is fixed. It isnt, now move on with your life, and use this stuff for entertainment. The same way you watch the mews really, its made from ca. the same devide between absolute truth and the champions of democracys fares.

If you want to understand the 2012 phenomena you want to look up ian lungold. Lean back, he is a great lecturer and im sure he knows what he is talking about, i just dont belive that what he knows is correct. But that is my...uneducated oppinion.

I know. It's temporary craze I get into.
But my belief ping pong is just playing.

But I don't know what to believe because anything can be anything.
As you said could it be some halo illusion or something?
So I can't even believe in photographic evidence.
And even if I was there in south pole and saw this and remained there, not playing like halo under different angle. How would I know what it is?
What has there remained to believe?
Of course I said another time that I don't believe in anything because it means believing without proving.
Someone said it's time that I believe in something.
Believe in myself? I don't know. Why believe? I am not a special being. How can someone believe in himself? Literally I am usuless junk.

If you took everything literally nothing would be truly true. And everyone's conscience, everyone ego would be destroyed in an instant!

But we do believe in something. Everyone in his own something. Or else you or anyone wouldn't have a conscience, he wouldn't think he is the fuckin best and everyone else sucks :P
