One small question about Heaven7

category: general [glöplog]
Have you ever managed to get sound from the DOS (heaven7d.exe) version? Not that I'd prefer to run it, but wth I never got and thought perhaps the DOS version doesn't have sound support.

Strange..

Ahh,. also. Do you know what happened with these guys? I'd like to see one more final demo from them..

I thought they released spot after heaven7. Can't remember anything since though.

And dos sound... I'm sure I had the dos version before the win version, and had no sound, but perhaps it needed real dos, or my sound card wasn't set up? Not sure

Oh yes, I know Spot. I forgot that..
But I haven't heard anything from them since then,

Yeah, nothing since then at all... And their site says 'robsons homepage, under construction'. It's not looking good. Perhaps they decided to go out on top?

As a side note, orange released mr black in 97, nonstop ibiza experience in 2000. So I'm hoping for a new release this year :)

speaking of heaven7, while i was watching it on the bigscreen on mainframe last month i suddenly understood what that damn poem really is about: it's christian propaganda!
scary..

christian propaganda?? Sorry.. either I am completely out of reality or you do not know christianity at all..
I just watched this demo looking if it has any references to christianity and well.. heaven and belief are the only things that are in common with christianity..

ah well.. I thought than that anyone who hears belief just thinks to christianity.. there were other prods that had FAR more christian messages in it that this one..
Or am I not getting the message of this intro..? Well what the heck.. intros and messages.. I never read a good message in an intro. They were all pseudo..

When it was first released there was no windows-version. And yes, the dos-version produces sound.

heaven7 + christian propaganda? What? it goes on about children dying to young to choose beleifs etc, something I think the christian churches pretend never happens, along with the other stuff they don't like such as child abuse, aids, and teenage pregnancy. I'd say it was the opposite if anything...

the dos version requires a gravis ultrasound sound card. you should try installing gusemu before lauching it if you wish some sound. and lol at the thread too, like ps.

i got the feeling that the whole thing was about people abandoning christianity and the young people never got a chance to "find jesus" or whatever and "lost the ability" because the elderly were going through irreversible changes (leaving christianity).. "belief" could ofcourse imply almost anything but when the whole intro is about heaven you narrow down the possible beliefs a bit..
christianity and the church isnt necesarly the same thing but im sure the christian church also thinks the elderly are going through irreversible changes and the young ones never get the chance to make a choice of their beliefs.

anyway, i guess i was pretty tired and drunk when i thought that up, maybe someone from exceed can tell me im completly off? :)

I got the impression it was about religion not making much sense personally. btw, most religions have a heaven :)

I'm more interested in religious engineering though (creation and manipulation of religions). When you start looking into that, it gets pretty hard to believe in any religions except bhuddism (which i don't beleive in either :)

Buddhism is not exempt:
Zen at War (About
the dealings of some zen buddhism followers and masters in the WWII)

I could also give the example of the fights between amida,
nichiren and zen buddhists during the medieval era in Japan.

Proofs that Jesus was Greek:

1. He went into his father's business.
2. He lived at home until he was 33.
3. He was sure his mother was a virgin, and his mother was sure he was God.

nothing: Damn, you where close but I am currently inspired by another religion, the one of "whateverism". But "nothingness" could feel well too. Sometimes I feel the universe is ein nothing. And we are the nothing of the nothing. But that's a whatever thought. Hmm..

Heaven 8, never heard about ? Sure this was a rumor in the hi-scene, but anyway. I met Picard at the MS2002, great guy, impressive intro :)

I agree with Knos there. Buddhism has many different schools and was originally based on an amended set of Hinduist principles.

I don't think it was ever intended to be a steadfast doctrine in the same was as organised religion, but it has been manipulated, organised into hierarchical structures, and generally corrupted to benefit those on top. You only have to look at the current Dalai Lama's lifestyle to see the hypocrisy of it all.

Wouldnt it be somewhat odd, to name a "christian inspired" intro, heaven 7? The 7 heavens are from the words of the Qur'aan and Prophet Mohammads(saws) hadeeth.

A really atmospheric intro nevertheless. I cant remember any refferences to prophet Jesus(saw) in it though.

(yes, Muslims love and respect Jesus as a prophet along with Mohammad(saws), Moses(saw), Noah(saw), Abraham(saw) etc...The main difference between the 2 beliefs is, that Muslims dont belive there is anything or anyone between them and God. And that there are no such thing as an "original sin". Every person is born pure of sin, and will only be judged on it's own actions thru life).

And to answer a few things most people think is a muslim tradition only. The Bible strictly forbids humans to eat pork, and God even threatens with hell to those who disobey this direct order. Jesus prayed face down (like muslims do) according to the Bible. And finally the Bible orders Christian men to get circumcised. Abraham did this, and was told it would be the proof of fate for young men of his line of blood and it was made law. and Jesus directly said :" Nothing in the old law shall be changed untill the day of judgement" and "I am not here to change the law, but to fulfill it". And he did...he did indeed fulfill the law as the promised messiah, but a guy called Paul reckoned he had more knowledge than all the prophets and God self, so he said that the laws are just vulentary....But they arent.

iblis: are you muslim?
what means saw? Something like "God bless him"?

I'm a christian, but I do not argue in forums or whatever because I've done that too often without any output..
Btw: I've got two Qu'raans at home. A gift from a muslim..

"The Bible strictly forbids humans to eat pork [...] the Bible orders Christian men to get circumcised."

But which version of the Bible is this? None of the versions I read said this.

Aparently the Bible used by Jehova's Witnesses forbid Christmas celebrations, and any kind of organ donation and transfusions, yet I never read this either. What about the King James Bible? That orders parents to stone their disobedient children to death!

It seems there is no such thing as THE Bible and all existing versions only contradict each other. So how can anybody make rules based on it?
