so i reinstalled vista to fix visual studio,
unfortunatly my backup dvd's ARE FUCKED.

I pitty the fool with vista...

20:16 - messed up $HOME completely
20:18 - restored fresh backup from subversion
20:19 - houston, we are back on track, thanks to professional software

remember 1: putting your $HOME into a revision control system = awesome :)
remember 2: being able to span your filesystem over several partitions = professional :)
remember 3: being able to tar up your whole system and just extracting it to restore = godlike :D

anyway....

dila > Use linux , ok for visual studio is not very good , but vista sucks , seriously. Moreover with wine you have a chance to run visual studio.
In other case use win xp

Or for fix your problem of copy try a live cd of linux.

Have you seen the code that MSVC produces against GCC 4.3.0? I bet you didn't.
code compiled with GCC -Os = 12k; compiled with MSVC /OS = 15k;
