analogue; I've been thinking, and I don't I like the votingsystem on pouët.net :) (don't take me wrong, I love what you've done here)

I believe it would be better to separate the comments and the votes. That way I believe more people will vote, and thus you get a better picture of what the scene feels about the prod. Perhaps some people are hesitating giving a prod a bad rating? If you keep rewarding glöps for the comments at the same time, you well ensure that some people will write some words about the demo. I still think that the three different choices are good though, and maybe you could have some sort of percentage on the page? x% voted "rocks", y% voted "ok" and z% voted "sucks". For the top10 you could for example find the average (sucks=0pts, ok=1pt, rulez=2pts).

Just some thoughts that jumped into my mind... :) Does anyone else have an opinion on the matter?

i'd prefer to have a choice on the account page with a top 5 prods to select. a bit like it is (or was) on ojuice for the charts. it would be nice coz now pouet.net is the biggest prods database and all sceners i know have their favourite intro/demo there... well maybe that's a bit hard to make, but with this voting system : everyone has the same voting power from the famous glöpers to the ones who never got any glöps.

no charts are bad because each individual has to arbitrarly choose an order between productions... a vote system I think gives a better picture of the global opinion

hey analogue, could you please rename goldrausch to "fr-09: goldrausch"? I was kinda tired when I submitted that prod :)

I know there's not much space left in the main page, but i think it would be useful to separate latest added prods from latest release prods. The latest released prods get lost in the noise.

hello, you can found the lastest released prods if you go in the main 'prods' link, and sort the column by release date (clic on the column with a little arrow)
easy no ? :))

(off course, concientious gloopers must read the nfo of the prods, and the scroll text of the prods to find the real release date of each added prod they make, quality submissions rules ;'] )

why not add some text by default in the comments box in prod sheet
to avoid stupid people to make comments in their own language instead of english
this text can be erasable, and can be like 'please only english allowed for comments'

why not add the comment box when submitting a prod, and the submission will be done only if the submitter write a comment for the prod and/or add a screen shot
if no screenshot, then comment obligatory

ask for a new compo category : the 512bytes intros

when you will add this new compo, consider change this prod from 1k to 512b please:

just a small "would-be-cool" (not very useful though) feature: what about showing the adder's avatar in the "last added" column? Just for the heck of it :)

I don't think many people care who adds a prod (except the person who adds it :). One icon is enough for that section, don't wanna get messy..

512 byte intro? Do we really need it for one intro? Should we have different types and icons for 128 bytes, 256 bytes, 512 bytes, 1024 bytes, 2kb, 4kb, 8kb, 16kb, etc etc? How about just 3 types. Intros 1kb and smaller, intros >1kb - 4kb, and intros >4kb - 64kb. Anything bigger is a demo. Wouldn't that be enough?

i'm agree with the <=4Kb suggestion
(there is too much different competitions like 128, 256, 512, 1024, 4kb etc ...)

smalltro 0<=4Kb
intros 4Kb>=64Kb
demos >64kb
(even if some <512Kb demos are called dentros)

and supress of 128 and 1kb category, just add the info in comments

(just a detail : there is not only one 512 bytes smalltro, there is lots of in east competitions)

i think there are plenty of other forums for musicians, it's nice that there are only demos/games here!

analogue, i was just thinking that it could be cool to set up a doublon-detector. You know, what happens when someone clicks on refresh when he shouldn't :)

Just a few code lines that detects when two comments contains exactly the same text ... I'm not a coder at all, but i know you can do it man, yeah ;)
