Hey all,

I'm down to do a talk in San Francisco on the demoscene, wondered if anyone had any hints/tips? I've been talking to truck/gargaj at BP08, and they're coming up with some useful stuff.

For those that might be out there, it's at the Metreon, and you can get information on it at www.lugradio.org/live and click on the US flag. Don't think I have a scheduled time yet, but I've got a talk as well as a BoF for a demoscene meetup if anyone wants to have a bit of a party...

And at $10, it's cheap enough ;)

If you need anything, I'm only 15 minutes away from the metreon - BYOC party maybe? :)

It's on at 1200 on Sunday for half an hour, I've been told.

And thanks LiraNuna ;) It's not BYOC - some bring laptops, but it's really a conference, the UK ones have been EXCELLENT!

Ah, I was there last week, our hotel (Palomar) was 100m away from the Metreon :)

I don't like the place though, too much people and too many weirdos at 4th and Market Street.

What kind of tips / hints are you looking for ? Places to visit ? :)

Firstly, how to present the demoscene to a US audience... It's got to be conferencey, but I'm also making it demoshowey and lots of energyery.

But that's only 2 days of the 6 I'm there, so places to visit would be most welcome, if you know of anywhere geeky that I shouldn't miss :)

Tempted to pick up an eeepc while I'm over there...

Yes, ~7 months ago I was on a trip around the united states, when I went pass San Francisco. I met a woman I've been chatting online with for more then a year.

I didn't want to leave her....

Now I'm married, and living in San Francisco.

i live in san francisco, and i hope i can make it. it would be nice to meet other demopeople in the area that i haven't met already!
