Musicians : Jingle needed for podcast-project. (not Scene related)
category: general [glöplog]
Hi mates.
I'm currently part of an university project dealing with an biweekly podcast for advanced learners of the english language.
The podcast will be available worldwide via iTunes and via our project page. (will be online with our first episode)
What we still need is a jingle for the start of every episode.
It should be 5-15 Seconds long and should somehow resemble the UK and the US. (perhaps mixing "God save the Queen" or "Rule Brittania" with the "Star-Spangled Banner", but can be something completely different also.. let your creativity flow.. :)
Since i'm not a musician i failed badly at my attempt to create such a jingle.
If you are interested in helping us out, drop me a line at :
s9phecke -at- stud.uni-saarland.de
or catch me on ICQ : 114077989
You will of course be credited and heared by thousands (hopefully) students all over the world! :-)
Regards,
Philipp aka. v3nomsoup^the red scarves

I suggest a jingle with pounding gabber action and a distorted, looped "USUK" sample. Enduring appeal.
what dixan said
dixan ;-) i knew this would perhaps be the wrong place to ask..
Started making something but it turned IDM before I could even think about mixing it with anything.
USUK.. pronounced "you suck"
Welcome to the USUK Podcast! And don't forget: USUK!
"You're listening to K.T.I.T.! Kay-tit, playing the breast, uh, BEST tunes in town!"
*bump* anyone interested?
venomsoup: Your mailbox hasn't "runeth over", has it? ;)

Here's one I knocked up:
WAV: http://rc55.com/ruairi/music/usuk.wav
MP3: http://rc55.com/ruairi/music/usuk.mp3
I don't mind doing editing if you needed it done, I knocked it up pretty quick. And I completely forgot to follow your theme - but at least it does the job!

With the best will in the world, what does the US have to do with learning English? American English != English.
Oh, and monarchism is by no means a prevailing sentiment in the UK, where we speak a language whose roots predate these newschool linguistic influences of Norman conquerors, Germanic intermarriages and the Holy Roman Empire ;) If you want your jingle themed to the English language, your best bet is a Viking theme that celebrates its basis in Old Norse. Not sure if this is Norse or Old Norse, but it sounds good:
