Oh come on guys.. This "demo" is scene-history (first ever dreamcast-demo/homebrew and without it the selfboot-"trick" would have propably never been developed).. It would be a shame if it doesn't appear on pouet.. ;)
A binary of this thing would be definetly overkill (as it was never officially released as far as i know).. So any sceners here that got it from the hitmen back then??!

I didn't get a copy, I wanted it, I still want it. I would prefer binary, I don't give a shit if it is overkill, at least then we'll have a way of making future videos or summat (:
@domfries: that's exactly the point.. i don't know if anyone not being a member of hitmen ever had the binary.. and as far as i know they've lost it.. :(

/me agrees with Toxie, may as well continue to try to find this one... it's actually a milestone and all that (at least in my mind) so.
just stumbled about this.... so let me clear up some things:

- the binary was never released, because it does NOT work with any of the known "selfboot" methods, nor does it work with the publicly available "coder" methods (dcload etc). the whole thing was made several months _before_ the infamous bootdisk was created, and it requires the "ddh" to load (the binary is loaded from a hardcoded sector on the disc, and there is no standard selfboot compatible filesystem on disc either). people who have seen the compo at mekka back then might remember this stuff, the demo was shown "live" using skywalkers dreamcast+ddh.

that said, i do have the binary (or better, the disk), but the sources seem to be lost, so it would be pretty painful to make the thing work as a selfbooting disk. and i really cant be arsed to hack the binary, sorry =P (and i dont have a working dc devel environment anymore either). it was enough hazzle to semi-repair my old dreamcast and ddh and figure out how the fuck it worked so i could make that video =P maybe sometime when i am really bored and dont know what else to do, then i'll look at it again =P

well, you can always release it and see if other people are up to hacking up the binary somehow. if even for the sake of preservation.

sure, i could. then again, people are too stupid to read a simple readme, and would only complain why it doesnt work. (i STILL get mails from people who complain that hitlice doesnt work with cdrwin images - WTF).

maybe if someone with the necessary skills convinces me that he is the one to fix it i'll send him a copy. or something.

as long as it's not lost forever, yay!
get tyranid to stop playing street fighter and fix the damn thing!
tyranid? did he ever even touch a dreamcast? =P

would be cool if some dc-wizard could patch the binary..
but i think it would be wise to release the ddh-binary anyways.. thanx for the video, btw!!
