Life on Mars?
category: general [glöplog]
... Well the first one sure-as-hell looks like Banyan trees from above (cf Arthur C. Clarke claims about it) but Nasa's got a pretty convincing description of those picture using smoke blowers, not trees.
It seems that oldschool Earth satellite-imagery veterans looked at that Mars pics and were positive : "Trees !" But then again, who really knows ? Until we get there physically, we'll have to wait with ever-refined, higher-resolution satellite scans of the area.
If you want something to make your brain glowing red with expectations, just google these words : mars, geodesic, dome. There's a feature in a specific crater that really looks like a geodesic dome from above. :) Now, is it a genuine dome or simply the sand dunes caustics-pattern in the bottom of a normal crater ?... We'll have to wait. :)

I've been convinced there is actual life on mars since TBL released perfect circle :)
I hereby declare this thread the Random John Simm Image Thread.
Seems almost alive indeed :(
could be lava floating out.. but to get such structures it needs a gluey consistency?
Wait, don't we have like a robot on Mars?
much higher res mars 'face' image.
It's not so much a face.. more like a buried spaceship. well, maybe not but still, it looks far from a natural formation. I'd be interested to see a geologist's explanation for it.

this is pretty interesting too.
:DDDD
2 mysteries solved:
In 5 mins the 2nd episode of the LoM spinoff starts at BBC1, hope it's better than episode 1 (which kinda sucked IMHO compared to LoM).
