Facebook is good for getting in touch with old friends, and not much more. I personally detest Facebook Platform (ie: the thing that keeps popping up idiot addon programs) with a vengeance.

True, is there any way to permanently delete it? Having it deactivated is better than receiving endless "Somebody you hardly know and don't like just chuffed you a valve!" messages, and I was fortunate enough to put fake details in, but it'd be nice to make it permanently gone :)
Putting in fake details is the closest you'll come to deleting your information. The old information will probably still be logged, if nothing else then in the backups, but anyway I doubt many sites that let you close an account really make an effort to delete it too.

You could make a sockpuppet out of it, and "talk mad shitz 2 all teh lame scenerz in the groups".

Psonice, just fill it up with illegal information and or images. Holocaust denial and child pornography and it will be deleted so hard and so fast from facebook that it will be measurable on ricthers scale.
practically everyone between ages 18 and 28 has a facebook account on turkey btw. it's the largest third or smt network. i'd wish starcraft was more popular.

Holocaust denial isn't illegal, but it might get your account suspended for being too offensive. Even kiddiepr0n won't get you properly deleted, though (in fact I believe Facebook are required to keep all your information if you start posting kiddiepr0n, until well after you've been arrested, the "risk" of which is about 100% if you've ever given Facebook accurate information at some point).
Doesn't the term "illegal" depend on the country to which Facebook belongs legally? I mean, I'm pretty sure that denying Holocaust is an offense in Germany and Israel, perhaps also in USA and I wouldn't be surprised if some southasian and/or african countries had nothing against childporn.
