i heard they did it at MAIN#1. not sure about #2 or other parties.
Skrebbel.. Sadly, it was not done at the main#02.
Competition machine specs are now up. Prizes and more talks are likely next.
So yeah, about Blockparty2k8 rooming:
I was wondering if anyone would be willing to split the costs of a double bed hotel room for Blockparty this year? We'll split 50/50, although I probably shouldn't be the one reserving since I may not make it on Friday (I will be in New York).

Oh, just to add, my computer died, so if anyone would be willing to lend me their computer (with MSVC installed) at the partyplace, for a few hours, that'd be rad ;-) Maybe overnight while you get some rest? :-)
*sigh*

what skrebbel said would be great at any euro demoparty too :)
Yes, let's make PC demo compos last for another additional hour or 2. No seriously, great idea, but not in it's raw form. You need to set a limit for the speech and then play music or something when the speech exceeds that limit. Hell, just start the demo when the limit has been reached - that ought to shut up most coders. (I said "most", ok?)
nutman, you should start going to parties other than breakpoint again. many parties have a cozy 7 - 10 entry democompo and a cuddly atmosphere. for instance, i believe at last kindergarden it could've been great fun. plus, don't forget who we're talking about. don't forget how most sceners act when they pick up a prize (grab prize, shake netpoet, quickly off stage). these talks won't last that long. they'll be great fun.
given that, indeed, it won't be a good idea at BP's 40+ demo compo i guess, no.
nezbie, just ask around for a computer on the spot. find someone who looks sleepy :). should be more effective than setting it up in advance.
