i still cannot understand this "hype" putting old amiga mods, sids, atari yms etc.. in a big mp3 file ... is this the new demoscene platform??

yeah, you're not very good at "understanding".
Personally, I don't listen to the podcasts. But that's because someone stole my iPod and I have nothing to listen to them on. While I do burn some to a CD-RW for listening in the car, I already listen to too many on the way to places, and I have a huge backlog to listen to.
