DirectX9? Ugh..
category: general [glöplog]
What is happening with latest Odd productions? World Domination, riding scali and unlimited blobs? Why do they ask about DX9 while I have already installed it on my system? (either on Win98 and XP) I'd like to see these demos and they don't seem to either be running not only in my PC but in friends PCs or Icafe computers. They have DX9 installed too..
all three demos work perfectly well on the reference-rasterizer, so I guess all machines you have tried have lousy drivers.
btw D3DFMT_D24S8 support is required
Optimus: seeing in this thread how many people had problems to run one of those prods, I guess it's their problem, not your:
never underestimate the stupidity of overly self-possessed coders.
...or never underestimate stupidity in general, I might add...
Oh right, my vs3.0 demo also runs on RefRast, so it MUST be lousy drivers!
What do I have to download?
I am a lamah, I want URL, I want to run a demo with da first click. Thanks in advance ;)
hmm... does it need dx9.0a? have installed that?
what happened to booting demos off a floppy anyway???
YEAH BRING BACK TEH G00D D0S DAYS!!!11111
*cough*
*cough*
odd guys : are you using d3dfmt_d24s8 as a texture, or a surface?
making a texture rendertarget of this type is an nvidia-only hack for hw dephbuffer shadowmapping since gf3, wont work on other manufacturers cards. (and also some detonator versions tend to bug with it.. thanks nvidia)
using a depthstencilsurface d24s8 however should work fine on a decent card.
