Don't know anything about that chick but the symbol she has around her neck is the ankh symbol which means "life". Kind of interesting in this setting.
El Topo: Check out Neil Gaiman's Sandman. In my opinion it's one of the best modern graphical novels. The "kind of interesting in this setting" might describe it more than you think :)
