Indeed.... and then some more. You can't utter a pretty obvious thought without being attacked. I'm pretty sure people wouldn't have reacted this way, had I stated my thought IRL. Maybe it has something to do with body language, dunno. But seriously, guys - I was NOT being disrespectful to Skybax - I feel sorry for him and his family as much as many of you do, but I just uttered some thoughts to make people THINK and not just react based on their initial feelings.

Oh that thing. Yeah, you must never ever challenge people's lack of perspective. Feeling sadness at the loss of someone you have no real connection to is an important part of the psychological mechanism that keeps us all from having to deal with reality. It sounds like cowardly denial, but it's really just self-preservation. Reality: 30.000 human beings starve to death every day; how can we possibly stay sane if that ever really sinks in? Ok, so technically denial isn't sanity, but it's the next best thing, right?

not enough having to deal with the death itself, they also have to read strangers theories on how no one seems to be thinking before feeling sad over your friend having died. that most of it is actually unfelt and uncalled for.

All this reminds me that I prefered to go to classes than my grandgrandmother's funeral. I'm pretty sure she would prefer that I was at school learning some stuff instead of wasting time in the funeral listening to old bags telling good things about a person no one known. Some persons even said at the funeral "she was so young to die". My grandgrandmother was almost 100 when she died!

ps: Yes, you do have a point - my rant was misplaced and, to some extend, many of the reactions back at me were alright and very much in place. However, I can also spot a post here and there that is as much out of place, directed at me, as my first post in the RIP skybax thread was. So there (to quote Doom).
