What is the smallest/oldest/most low tech demoable machine?
category: general [glöplog]
Dear Pouters/Pouetizers,
we have seen many examples of demos on really old and obscure hardware. For example on VCS2600, VC-20 and that pokemon thing. Is there any unexplored territory? Are there any boundaries left?
How about Commodore PET? Apple II? Atari 7800? ZX-81?
Or how about "smallest demomachine"? (See smallest web server ) Of course sound and video is required.
Who is going to close the last gaps?
Best Regards,
Lando Calrissian

I heared people were showing off with programmable calculators on some party
As for the smallest one i can run code on this and i've even done some simple effects on mine but unfortunately it's a real jungle right now and a lot of players have slightly different hardware/firmware (like different screen sizes), it's too bad because the specs are quite cool.
Also there's a quite a lot of unexplored consoles in this list.

Nice idea with the wikipedia list! This one looks pretty suitable http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colecovision - and there is no production on pouet.
I believe PlayStation 3 is unexplored. Why not direct your attention to it?
Too expensive.
PSX3 may get interesting in 20 years..
do some stuff on the NES
(saturn is unexplored by the scene, btw and rather poerful)
