i know why the rise in that particular avatar usage has occured though, it's the first (and thus default) selection on the fancy new drop down list we been using to pick the avatars since quite a few months now.

n00bs can pick the farbrausch/fairlight avatar ANYWAY if they like it... it's not like it matters much anyway.

there's no protection for avatars (and likely wont ever be)

people can have any avatar - whether they get it as random or pick it themselves is mere detail.

Gargaj: people can kill other people if they really want to, yet it would not be a good idea to give away free guns because "they could do it anyway" :)
