i've been there in '05. ambience was really great. as they said they would try to match the 'german taste of music', we feared to hear some commercial stuff. but our sorrows turned out to be wrong. music was a mixture of good old plain ooomph ooomph and even some softer beats (dj depandant of course). the first 2 hours the music was quite boring, but then the right persons got to the table. lots of lj'ing but no real vj'ing. they had some really complex and nice rendered videos though, that they used to introduce all their djs. i dont know about last year... just read that they had much lesser djs there, which was quite disappointing.
so if you like this kind of music and are not worried about high entry fees than this could probably be a nice experience. although its a bit inanely: its a big fun to arrive at the train station and entering the tram ;) (there are lots of ppl which have no clue about what is going)

ttl: one of my friends has written the Sensation anthems for those shows, does all the dj introductions etc... infact at trance energy 11 i rendered all the dj's introductions for them which was a test-party for them to get the sensation shows job. And im not even a 3d artists, or a trance lover for gods sake +) The nice organisation at ID&T offered me 1 yes ONE ticket for the trance energy party work in return :) which i refused ofcourse, but my friends got the job, and i had a nice look in the sensation-kitchen with all its dirty secrets.. its a scam, a massmedia hysteria and has nothing to do with the love for trance music., just about your $$$ but heh what else is new =)

Sensation white is a stupid trance-a-ton and not worth the money, Sensation black is okish, but still not worth the cash. These party's are ridiculously expensive for one night.

And yeah, i've been to both.

Oh and Alien, ID&T isn't as horrible as UDC is with their moneymaking scam. Ever been to Dancevalley? Where you have to pay 10 fucking bucks for a program booklet and a beer costs you about 4 euros. I went there once for free because some friends were playing, and that day still cost me about 175 euros.

and what about mysteryland or tomorrowland ? they seem to be worthy outdoor festivals, but still pricey and very commercial.

All the last ID&T events are shit.

Last year's Sensation seems mopre house than Trance.
Bah.

This year i'll go to theFull Moon Festival, in Germany.
