Riverwash 2007

category: general [glöplog]

You may have heard the only Polish multiplatform scene event, Symphony, is no more. Does it mean Polish scene is dead? Not at all! We invite everybody to visit beautiful woods of southern Silesia region and join us in partying at Riverwash on 24 to 26 August. Foreigners get in for free. For more details, go to http://www.riverwash.info

just checked out the plane ticket prices, and actually already now a wizzair flight cologne-katowice back and forth already costs 101 euro with taxes. yet, it might change i guess.. an option to go is uring eurolines bus, goes for around 12 hours (they are quite comfortable) and costs (from cologne) 76euro back and forth if you are under 26.
hope some german sceners also decide to come - the location looks ace, and it seems like a scnene event which will combine a serious demoparty (unlike symphony 04 for example) with traditional polish way of partying. looking forward to it very much.

if people will arrive in katowice center, would any polish people volunteer to pick people up and get them to the partyplace? since it's apparently VERY remote.

i was more hoping for a german bustrip thing to join but seems im out of luck.

german bustrips are nowadays comparable to portuguese demopartys. :(
dipswitch: 80 km is not that distant (like from hahn to bp, i think). i may be able to arrange a direct bus (10-12 seats) from the airport to the party place for 40-50 euro, that would be about 5 euro per person each way.

Also, GSM networks do not reach that place. Peace and quiet :).

I had that problem on my trip to Poznan (Symphony 2004). I was clever enough not to print the map of Poznan, where the way from the Autostrada to the location was explained. While searching for ~2 hours I had no gsm connection whenever I've tried (not very often). After I've arrived the location, there were no problems anymore.
ekkie thump - thats about 2 hours from my house!

a bit off-topic but how the fuck can it be possible to _not_ have gsm coverage anywhere in europe in 2007?

It's a local anomaly, 1km wide I think. the GSM coverage map doesn't mention it. I bet you could find many such places, depending on the landform profile. Besides, name of the district (Nedza) translates as "Poverty" so answer yourself ;).

Riverwash 3 is on the way. Foreigners, this time you have no excuse that the party place is difficult to reach! :-)

Give us more info then Fei :)
Allways wanted to go to a polish party. But never got to it in the "golden years" of polish demoscene.
