Keyboad fetish. Post pictures of your keyboards.
category: general [glöplog]
My fetish is pretty simple, standard keys with no whaky multimedia controls or other features. So here is my keyboard, the black one is my proper one and the other two i just got off a mate, one for controlling movies while i am in bed and another for replacing the black one while it gets cleaned and dried out.
Also any idea why my name is missing a vital letter n in some of the views?

Right, i want you people to post your keyboards, that was the point of this tread.
i don't have any keyboard, sorry :(
I purchased my dream keyboard a few months ago, an original IBM Model M (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model_M_Keyboard) for an insane amount of money from someone in the States. How sad is that? but theyre awesome! I'll post a pic later
that Compaq of yours isnt too bad, I had one. the labtec looks nasty

Best keyboard ever:
But good luck finding a place that sells those. :(

The model m's are legendary, my actual ideal keyboard would be
Realistically: A model m derivative of some sort.
Fantasy, model m mechanics but quieter, very little surround around the keys, a descrete nipple pointer built into the keyboard while the keyboard is still the right size without compactness.
The compaq and the NEC need to be washed really bad, so once the labtec dries out ill gut and wash them. The compaq needs to be painted though, even thought the key action is a lot nicer than the nec. The labtek is horrible, but free, wireless and i just cleaned it so all the keys work :) the layout is atrocious, the \ is where i normally press the enter key and the otehr keys are squished weird, i dont see it as being more than a remote for vlc/spare for when my keyboard is filled with pepsi/beer.
Maybe when my business takes off ill buy something wireless and wire it up to an ibm with trackpoint(i never will :)

I guess it qualifies since I use the PS/2 adapter :)
alumuum...you know your keyboards! :D Probably the only complaint i hear from ppl about the Model M is about the noise from the key clicks. but I think it's necessary, due to its buckling spring mechanism. if you take away the sound, i think you take away the whole Model M keyboard experience! the whole touch>sound>visual synergy that feels so great. i'd rather the sound of a quality keyboard mechanism than that aweful low din, muffled squelchy sound from cheapo membrain keyboards.
there is one keyboard that beats even the original Model M tho.....
if you open it up there's also a free computer inside...BARGAIN!! :D

i also own an x-arcade like keops and various 8/16 bit machines. mainly commodore though. brand loyalty ;-)
old64scener: X-Arcade = rules :)
pc one.. powerbook original 12" keyboard (ofcourse it totally 0wnxor)
Russian clones are so pretty
Doom, without the dumb assed touch pad that keyboard is almost perfect. The touchpad really kills it for me :( A few places i found sell them online, and i would be really happy to drop the 100us price tag if someone ripped the damned touch pad off that doubles the size of a keyboard, if that wasnt there i think every thinkpad nerd would own one of those. Another downer is that now its labled lenovo :(
Also in a super cruel twist of fate i just found that ideal keyboard, but cant seem to get any more info about it.
from here if anyone is fluent in japanese.

Here's an idea:

keops : I would almost agree with you 95% except for one thing. Do you remember SNK arcade games like Ikari Warriors etc? they had a special yellow joystick for them. normal joystick BUT you could rotate them clockwise/anti clockwise. If they had that as well i'd be 100% happy.
