Bonzaj: I never spoke about great achievements or anything, I simply tried to show you how selfish I was/we were when it came to demoparties.

Actually I know that you don't care, but there are people who do

You know I don't? How is that possible whereas I actually do? Did I ever say I did not care about Symphony? I can't recall that. Once again, you put words into my mouth, words I did not speak.

Come on, how about cutting the drama already. One party disappears, another one will be born somewhere else. Both Mekka and The Party had amazing prods when they existed. I doubt the fact that they don't exist anymore changed anything. New parties took over, new prods were released. Big deal.

What party took over after The Party?

Also i have a strong feeling if breakpoint hadn't been launched as "mekka & symposium - now with different name and location" kind of attitude at first (no, it was not wrong - it was successfull) it wouldn't have achieved the amount of feedback as it luckily did.

In Sweden "bigger" demoparties are now history, we have cozy booze-meetings without any price money and everyone is happy, except our release.txt's. The only demoparty in Sweden that has gotten any kind of decent releases lately is Birdie which is pretty much comparable to ASM, why? -Price money.

People coming from countries who never really had this big parties don't know what tradition follows them.

That put aside i think Abyss has made excellent work with ASM, and now that it might be cancelled we have decided to cancel our boat reservations.

I think it did change something. As I've spoken to couple of people why they quit/will not release any production, they said that they have no interest in releasing a decent prod, which will take 3-4 months of development on a small meeting. Yeah, there are lot of strong motivated sceners that will release a great prod without a party, but believe me that there's a lot more that need a carrot. I don't want to judge what's good and what's not, but I just would like to watch more great productions every year :). I can agree that there won't be too much difference between Assembly and another big party with the same prizes and the same number of attendees. But I doubt that such big party will born in a near future. Next I also agree with stefan that the prize money is important for some people and is a good motivation for them. But more likely it is not money but the audience that is the most motivating aspect. Yeah we have lot of imperfections, but what the hell :), let's not be afraid to say it loud. Anyways I think that this might be a good point to finish this little argue between me and keops. I apologize for this oldskool blah blah. And maybe we will suprise you in the future who knows? :)

he he and about that little drama about Symphony :). There will be another party in the end of August in Poland called "Riverwash" on which we would like to invite you all! More info soon.

bonzaj: don't get me wrong, I have nothing against you or Assembly. I just think that its disappearance would not be a "trully horrible thing" but I can totally understand the some people would miss it.

Also, I have never felt the need of a party/carrot to release a prod, that probably explains why I don't care as much as others do ;)

The Party Era ended, because of too much noise, so, how will the Assembly Era be able to survive/continue? Too big MASS computer parties are gay. Nevertheless their nice prods.
I totally agree with Keops. There´s no Party needed to release good/quality stuff. ;)

I have never met Keops at a party. Actually I doubt the guy even exist! He does not even have a real name or address.

I somewhat agree with bonzaj. Seeing your prod in a great event is really something.

I find the fact that you feel having any authority on decent behavior absolutely hilarious.

True, but a great event is not dictated great by numbers of people present, the biggest prizes nor the age of a party.
