I'm sure Serpent, Dalezy and others were only joking but, just in case someone actually thinks drinking booze is a good way to prevent getting sick, let me quite something from Wikipedia...

The best way to avoid diseases is probably just washing your hands well regularly, and that's where the strong alcohol might actually be useful. ;)

seriously, washing your hands all the time is way to go, it is just something that gets forgotten when drunk..

even i have met scout, and i'm not quite the average dutch demoscener :D

also, if you're really drunk no one wants to shake hands with you and you forget to eat anything anyway, so, in a way it does help you keep the bacteria away.
