A rare example of a company making an actually almost scenish demo
category: general [glöplog]
Actually it's already here: http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=10686
Anyway, I don't know many examples like that. The only other one I can think of is a matrox sponsored demo with music by brothomstates.

Those two examples don't really compare to the 32x demo though.

As in, they don't fit your personal definition of a "scenish" demo? :)
There are two very cool demos for gamecube. Search youtube.
About the CGB demo: (Also dumped in the comment section for the prod)
Trivia: Some of this code can be found in Tetris DX as well. Wait at the logo screen until the game starts to auto-play. When it does, abort it with select. Then you'll enter fishtank mode in a few seconds. Next time the game auto-plays, abort it with up, and you'll get the sprite animator. Next time abort it with down to get the plotter.

Some of these YouTube comments are quite interesting. "LOL, internet" :)
I think that all demos from nVidia and Ati for their gfx cards should be mentioned here.
Back in 1992 or 93 the french Complex guys (Gengis, Clawz, Titan) made an A1200 demo for Commodore (couldn't find it here on pouet). Than we have the Amiga Dealer Demo which was also done by Commodore back in 1989, but it's more a slideshow. If I remember myself correctly, the company Thalion released a preview of their rpg game "Ambermoon" in 1993 (for Amiga, of course). The disk did show some ingame screenshots as well as showing their texture mapped 3D engine in action. This was the first commercial texture mapped 3D engine for Amiga 500 and 1200. Unfortunately I was never been able to locate the disk again, but I'm sure it must be somewhere around in the web.

i lovethe Amiga Dealer Demo!

I remember there was some short of a similar demo for Amstrad CPC (in basic though? It sucks a bit but found it impressive then :), that shows circles, music, word processing, spreedsheets and a demo of a game and other things, start with laser lines drawing the Amstrad logo. It was on the disks of CPM which I can't find atm in the internet now as dsk. If I find I'll post it here..
I found the Amiga 1200 demo from Gengis. It's listed here on Pouet as a Digital release. I always thought it was released under the Complex label. Well, that doesn't matter now :-)
years and years ago when I was young (gotta be a long time ago.lol) there was a competition by blue peter (uk kids show) to make idents for the BBC in the UK, the children's tea time viewing.
Is anyone old enough to remember that competition? there was one that was amazing done on a spectrum or bbc micro, was amazing at the time.. consisted of like a painters scaffold and a cat walking across the scaffold and knocking paint pots to form the logo. I did try to find that on youtube but, no joy. might contact the BBC/blue peter.. maybe people from the UK spectrum scene who are old enough remember it. It was nice design wise (ok no fractals and shading/3d , but it was the 80's hehe).
heres 3 I found anyway.

optimus: I do remember the amstrad demo also. spectrum came with a sorta demo "horizons" way back in 1983 (my first computer) and a bat/ball game.
also atari 800xl I had , had something simular. most shops like dixons ran them.
