Well, it will never run as fast, as the real DX 10.
Omg this guy is 19yo, interested in dx and reversing like me!! what a coincidence !
Someone needs to do something though. I can't see many people rushing to buy Vista after all the bad press it's getting. It sounds like a total disaster.
Why is it that everyone jumps on that? Sure, it's a good way to get free publicity, but that project is in alpha-alpha-alpha-alpha stage by now. I even suspect Wine guys will be the first to implement DX10-to-GL emulator than this project.
Didn't Microsoft anounce that there will be a DirectX 9.0d that basicly is DX10 for XP? Someone told me that.
Who cares anyway, if I have a DX10 card and want DX10 functionality and MS won't support it on XP, there's still OpenGL.
xernobyl: no. There will be (is?) DX9.0L which is DX9 for Vista, with some restrictions taken off because of virtualized video memory.
openGL ftw \o/
xernobyl: there were a rumor that 9.0L would be dx10 for XP (http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=35110), but this was later revealed to be false.
