Photoshop works in Linux with wine (x86 only unfortunately). Disney and some other companies are actually paying the wine team just so they make sure Photoshop works or something.

The problem is, you can't install it with wine because the installer bitches about you running an unsupported OS or something. So you have to install it in Windows and then copy the installed version and some crap from the registry too.
Hardly worth the trouble if you ask me.

Does you wireless work out of the box in Windows? No? Oh, what a crying shame.

There's a panel in the Ubuntu Administrator thing which allows you to use Windows wireless drivers in Ubuntu.

So stop complainin'!

I need an OS that runs Powerpoint, Excel and LaTeX. No replacements accepted. Linux fails in 2 out of 3.

Yeah, Photoshop 7. Anything more recent causes problems.

No, but it comes with a driver disc, you lovely bastard -one without Linux drivers 10 out of 10 times.

And every other goddamn device (RME soundcard included) appears to be no problem, but Wireless? Apparently "real" men don't use wireless :)

Ha ha, Powerpoint.

Rumor has it that Veronica Moser just agreed on offering animated features for a linux boot intro.

Now that's good news actually.

Actually I found a much better way of running windows applications: Run them using windows and use cooperative linux for linux.

Powerpoint makes me cringe. Or rather, it's overuse/abuse makes me cringe.

Hmm, the install instructions I saw were for CS2.. Oh well, makes it even less worth the hassle if there's gonna be problems too.

Ever since I first saw a multiboot computer with various OS's installed (5 years ago? 6?) I keep wondering what the hassle is about...

Or virtualization, which is just taking the multiboot a step further - no more rebooting.
