TIMBALAAAAND!!! YOU STOLE A SOOOONG~
That's a fucking catchy track !
That's a fucking catchy track !
...and I just realized that the song would probably sound even better in a strongbad cartoon.
The song could use Timbaland's touch.
WOW that rock song is amazing! If someone told that the Metallica guys became sympathetic to Tempest's cause and recorded that track I'd be the first to believe :P
Seriously, the author should have consulted the pronounciation of the name though - now he's risking that Tempest will get offended while his compatriots laugh their asses off...

I'm suprised no one re-worked the "parental advisory" warning.. perhaps it could be included in all demos..

No. The original screenshot had a girl having sex with an horse... so ppl decided to remove it.
Imagine that.
imo the only effective message in such videos would be to encourage ppl to refuse to buy any of the culprits productions instead of "asking" him to pay royalties.. bad press seems to be working for the goal in question at first sight, but usually it does have the opposite effect: any press is good press, including the bad one..
wow that TIMBALAND RIPS music video is cool! maybe author wants to join jumalauta?

TIMBELAND ACCUSED OF SAMPLING A BEAT FROM A CRAPPY FINNISH EUROPOP BAND
Tim "Timbeland" Mosley has been accused of sampling a beat from a famous Finnish hit named "Acid Jazzed Evening". This eurotrash song was originally recorded in 2000, when it was performed by an obscure europop band named "Tempest Project". The song was produced by Janne Sunni, a music producer and demoscenester (programming nerd) also known as "DJ Damage". It was later arranged into a so-called Commodore 64 MOD by another Finnish instrumentalist Glenn R. Gallefoss, for use in a demo version of a video game made for the Commodore 64 console.
This is what the ultra-niche demoscene is all about: nerds make internet only music for very old gaming consoles such as the Commodore 64 and the decade-old Amiga, which cannot play just everything. This music is not copyrighted, because it is distributed for free and the authors never pay RIAA for copyright protection. Besides, Sunni and Timbeland probably just found the same SID preset in their Casio keyboards, so it is just a coincidence. Timbaland would never waste time to search the internet for obscure, crappy electronica for inspiration.
Incidents like this happen all the time, and the only reason for the media coverage is the collective pride of an army of herb ass nerds with a vague understanding of copyright law. These geeks should be grateful and pay Timbeland some royalties because he bothered to make the Casio preset decent enough for listening. That Finnish girl would not be getting any money with her shitty 8-bit Nintendo bleeps anyway, so Timbeland is really fulfilling the poor Finnish girl's lifelong dreams of becoming a rich American pop idol. God bless America and the dear leader George W. Bush!

I can't stop laughing at the inaccuracies.
viznut: respect! so much nonsense in so little space. very impressive!
Hahahahaha.. this is beyond classic viznut..
he accidentally wrote timbaland correct once!
viznut: is that article for real? I can't believe it!!!
bartman: no.

misconceptions and errors collected into one "news article"
god bless our dear leader! cluelessnews indeed... at least the word is spreading: i just tried to tell the story to some fellows (no affiliates of the army of nerds(tm) whatsoever) at our weekly indoor soccer match; they ALL already knew it. still no reaction from geffen/timbaland?
99% change it's written by someone against timbaland though.. ;) The last sentence was the final proof :)
OMG that text is even worse than Correio Da Manhã (VERY low standards journalism portugues newspaper)!
Where does the "DJ Damage" come from?
Where does the "DJ Damage" come from?
xernobyl: "Tempest/Damage" -- they think it means that Janne goes by the name "Tempest" AND "Damage". Combine that with every americans dying desire to add the prefix "DJ" to everyone involved with music and you have a winner. :)
Oh right... only Fairlight came to my mind.
