The 5th Annual Scene Awards is well on the way and is going to be held at the Breakpoint demoparty, Bingen am Rhein, Germany on 7th of April 2007. Full list of nominees will be published on 1st of March 2007, meanwhile you can vote for your favourite releases from 2006. See you soon, the Easter isn't too far away!

Yes, and of course people didn't read what it actually said:

"Vote for this year's best demo"

I see prods such as Fairlight's "Meet the family", Limp Ninja's "michinygma" and Conspiracy's "Chaos theory" in there.
Although they're all very fine prods, they're not demos and should be removed before people place too many votes on them...

nutman: hmm.. actually.. typically publics choice is for productions not necessarily demo, so it's a case of fixing the homepage missleading line not removing the 64k/4k prods.. unless the policy changed this year and nobody told me about it. :) but i believe it's a website information mistake :)

Skrebbel, can you repeat the same bug? Just tested the login with Opera 9.10 without problems. The login code is also pretty much the same we use elsewhere, so this sounds weird...

And yes, you can vote any demoscene release from 2006. It doesn't need to be a demo, it can be an intro, wild, animation, musicdisk, you name it.

guardian: needs to be suggested by other scene.org staff members or dropping jury members. and then approved by the rest as beeing someone without prejudice for other platforms or countries or groups.

tmb: fuck you -_- we try hard to make sure it's an unbiased process to the most humanly possible. country, relations, platform and skillwise. if you think it's lobbied then organize your own awards, there aint much more we can do about it beyond what we already are doing.

tmb: believe it or not, some people try to be productive and bring stuff to the demoscene. Not everybody is just an unproductive troll whose sole interest is to piss people off.
