AMD still didn't deliver the promised CPUs from Assembly 2006 (prices!!!)

category: general [glöplog]

isn't that bad? i mean, come on, Assembly was in August, now we have December!!!

i guess they made an exception for you. everyone else have gotten the cpu plus bonus cash due to the delay.

lol, if that would be so, why do all the winners of an AMD cpu complain then? ;)

tmb: what do you care?

anyway, we're waiting for 3 of them. good job we dont need to sell them to pay our electricity bill or something, cos it'd be pretty dark in here if we did. but hey - sponsor delays arent anything new.

"sponsor delays arent anything new"
you tell me... Inercia main sponsor is also late (end September)

very unprofessional party organizing

if there sponsoring is not available at the beginning of the party, there will be no commercials for the "sponsor"

you need to do real business with real businessmen

smash: i care actually, because i think its not ok

oh well talking about Inercia and not Assembly as I have no idea about their problems but to make it short: it is -not- our fault, as in not being unprofessional party organizing
your suggestion is good tmb but (in our case) that way that would make people have less sponsors... :|

who makes demos for a bunch of cpus anyway?! isnt the actual fun while making your demo+watching it compete, the essence of competition anyway? and if you need to pay your electricity bill that way, you're just a lazy bum and you should get a job :P
cpu is teh life

Never mind him, he's under the impression that nobody here is on the oldskool asm mailing list.

Thanks for being a moron. You are not Assembly Organizing, nor capable of a shadow of that.

In all the earnest empathy I can muster: Assembly is not to blame here -sort of.

They're the ugly date stuck with the check while entities like AMD left the restaurant with the promise that they'll call back ...asap. This is perfectly excusable for a new party, but I kind of feel hard-pressed to accept the poor replies Pekka gave last night. He's supposed to be jaded and shitting experience, for christ's sake.

Letting AMD get away with a sponsorship deal in prizes is a-ok. Letting them decide when to relate the promised monetary figure to some CPU they have on a shelf... that's like the Assembly 1994 CD-ROM all over.

amazing, time travel does pay off!
We have worked with AMD's HQ staff to get this sorted asap and as soon as we got to the right persons, things have been moving very rapidly, so kudos to AMD on trying to sort as a top priority matter.

After X-mas holidays we expect the CPUs to be shipped by mid January from USA to AMD Sweden and from there directly to the winners. We'll check the price of the processors and ensure that the average, consumer price (in Finland) of the processors you'll be getting matches the missing value of your prizes.

I must say that I'm at the moment very impressed by how seriously AMD is taking the matter and working hard to resolve it. Unfortunately it took us a while to find the right contact, but now things are moving very well. So, I hope in the end it'll be happy holidays after all.

Have a nice X-mas - although some presents will be a bit late ;-).
