scene music stolen

the subjects of crucifixion appear to be minors

In the very same sense that members of the nazi party appreared to be honest, well-willing citiziens.

Honestly, just because they were dumb cunts high on "success" doesn't excuse them for being prissy and dismissive about angry people -only to to go all "wir haben es nich gewusst" when the hammer falls.

Hempest: they lifted your music? I don't know, they seemed to have used something that's legally yours. One could argue that they owe you something, either some dollars or a blowjob by Furtado (I'd go for the dollars)

Maali and Sparcus: The song 'Dear Jessie' was made by Sierra. He sold it to "Rollergirl" (the producer) afaik.

okkie: in happyland thats how it works, but unfortunately in the real world it's hard to go up against major corporations. :)

Smash: I know, i saw it happen before. But here there is quite some more evidence that the mod is older.

There is definate evidence that the mod is older; I won Assembly 2000 oldskool music compo with it, so I got good documents from Abyss (thanks man). And still that doesn't mean much...

Off to spend xmas. Greets to elites and fuckings to Nelly Furtado and Timothy Z. Mosley!

conclusion: fff sucks. they sound funny but the idea of ripping and especially the way it's ripped is beyond terrible. somekind of lo-fi karaoke bar.. no, that makes it sound too good, actually.. diareetkever is more amusing.

tempest: did nelly and emi really rip you off?! i'd at least try to start some legal action against them.. are there any links to compare the songs?

Ok, let's flip over the picture and see when scene musicians ripped off real life musicians, shall we?

;)
earx: this seems to still be seeded..

nutman: yes, very relevant, especially seeing the revenues of scene products ;)

okie: cheers!

seems the 'Furtado-Mosley rip' was done well. at least, it sounds good but they make almost no attempt to hide "evidence of the crime" ;) the bittorrent is good proof that it's a rip. rippers are lamers!! fuckings to Mosley and two kinds of fuckings to Furtado.

readers:
* pls check okkie's link to hear for yourself
* also check the evidence on www.dhs.nu of the fff rips:

what bothers me a bit about this whole deal is the fact that the subjects of crucifixion appear to be minors.

I was going to suggest a good hard over-the-knee spanking, but that would get us into big trouble in so many ways!

BB Image this is stolen from the U2 scene. Most lyrics are atleast.

Well, I think the Timbaland's steal is a performance by itself. Just because I wonder how he got his ears on this. I imagine this overhyped producer acting like a geek and listening to so underground music.

But eh, once XXX said in a Tracks/Arte interview that "this music will be everywhere even in Pop music" or something like that...

I'm happy that Timbaland just has discovered the chiptune revival and figured out that he is just unable to do this music on his own.

We rulez Timbaland :)

great. shifter triggered godwin's law just to kill the conversation.
earx: So? Stealing is stealing. Makes no difference if you're smart enough to benefit from it or not.
oxb: Timbaland is not unable to do music on his own. If he was, he wasn't so successful. This whole scene attitude of 'WE ARE SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE REST!' is just retarded.

nutman: it makes plenty of difference for your wallet..

seriously, it's true that the scene steals alot from pop culture.. probably more than the other way around.

i'd just like to see the author get credited. in many chip/mod conversions this was done. in the title, or in the instrument names or what not.. ofcourse not always. the the pop artist, already a millionaire, doesn't notice this much.. instead it makes him even more famous.

when it's the other way around the scene musician doesn't get any more famous... except within the scene itself due to threads like these.. also he doesn't get fully acknowledged by the pop artist.. which in my eyes seems crappy..

i have a confession to make:

i stole the drum part from my evoke 2004 2nd place mp3 entry from abba's dancing queen.

no, it wasn't from love boat.

sorry.
