I've been in Mensa, but now I'm out. Mensa is the most stupid ever club. First, Mensa has no targets. Maybe it is a social club, but it is not good as social club (at least for me). People who likes solving stupid IQ tests like the mensa one, has nothing more in common. And no, there are no geniouses there. Well, maybe there is any genious, but the most of the people are as stupid/intelligent as the people you can find in the street. So, for example, you can find much more intelligent people in the university. And also, about creativity, it is also the same as on the street. The most of the people in Mensa are a pointer to null in creativity.

I really prefer Demoscene people. We have something to do. The most of us are intelligent. The most of us have some intellectual targets. Some of us are talented/creative. So, fuck Mensa, long live to demoscene :)

There are probably easier ways to have sex with truck drivers than joining Mensa - doesn't Mensa pride themselves with even having truck driver as members?

Yes, and waiters, and car mechanics, and secretaries, and tailors... I just wonder if there are also pr0n actors among them.

Anyway, any of you like puzzles/logical games/recreative maths? I like these so much... I collect/solve these puzzles and I also create some of these. Some of these problems are art. An art difficult to understand if you are not in that "world", the same as demoscene. If you want I could post some of these...

Heres a puzzle for you Geniuses:

Was ist unsichtbar und riecht nach Kaninchen ?
BB Image

This one was proposed by Martin Gardner, I think in 50s-60s, but the origin is unknown (afaik).

In the image you see a cube in 2 pieces. By each of the 4 lateral faces, you see exactly the same cut shape (the darker line). When the 2 pieces are assembled as in the image, the cube is full filled (no holes inside). The 2 pieces slide. So, how are constructed the pieces?

Note: this is an medium-easy problem. I've post it because it is a beauty. If you see it too easy I will post something harder :) I'll post an image of the solution as soon as anybody answer it correctly.

Do you want us to draw the solution?

I had the same idea as havoc (it slides diagonally), but this doesn't answer texel's questions (how are the pieces constructed?).

construction is easy too, assuming wiresaws are allowed... first cut the "groove" in a bigger block of wood, then cut cubes from that block.

havoc wins :D Adok, diagonally is enough solution. If "constructed" has more meaning is because my lack of English, sorry.

Ok, then... I will post something a bit more difficult...
added on the 2006-11-17 14:38:17 by texel texel
texel: OK. The right question would have been: "How do the two pieces slide?"

Drawing the images you've just posted would have been a far more difficult task!
