German radio transmission at WDR5 about mp3 thievery!

category: general [glöplog]
Just in case you are interested into that sort of stuff and understand the german language:

Yesterday the german sender WDR5 brought a very interesting transmission about mp3 thievery, the sense of tracking and procecuting filesharers etc.
The editorial staff of Gulli.com was also present by giving the journalist a few statements about that matter. The original title was "Musikdiebstahl im Netz - Unterwegs mit einem mp3-Detektiv"

(I already hear you screaming. Yes I know, rapidshare sucks big time!)

nitro: btw, torrents suck just as hard as rapidshare if you don't even bother to stay online to seed them :-)

sparcus: I am online seeding it. But using my neigbour's wlan has its disadvantages /:
Before I used to be able to seed, but maybe they blocked that. Or maybe all the people wanting to connect to me are stoopid s well (OiNK term for someone who can't open ports)

Nitro: No, the OiNK would be on you, I just downloaded some other stuff as well so my ports are fine :-)

Never mind though, I already suffered the rapidshare tour from hell until I finally reached that download link.

Isn't it illegal for them to download the songs being offered? And what networks are they searching?

Short summary for those who don't want to download things blindly?
added on the 2006-10-13 20:59:05 by --------- ---------
Short summary: Downloading stuff illegally is bad, the police will come to your home, take your computer and rape your children. On the other hand, there are many legal ways of downloading music, including indy labels that release their music as MP3s for free, as well as selling it.
(there's more than that, including a recording of someone's house being searched and an interview with the various people involved in such a search)

We are against the protection of Audio Cds as in that case many of them do not work anymore at older cd devices, for example I had huge problems with "Mensch" by Herbert Groenemeyer. It refused to run on my cd player in my car. But I had paid for it the whole price! On the other side a 13 years old child can ripp what's on a cd, so there's no working protection at all.

And we are against those f*cking drm-crypted musicfiles because you pay for them in the online store but you cannot do with them what you want. There is already a standart for those sort of music files. You all know it, it's called mp3.

An easier way & more comfortable way of downloading the whole transmission:

I also hate the anti-piracy videos at the beginning of DVDs which you are seeing more often and often. Really smart idea from the movie industry, to annoy the hell out of people who actually did pay for the DVD.

Sadly the swedish pirate party didn't have the slightest chance in the last election.

Yeah, also those "Hart aber gerecht" spots being shown before a movie in the cinema starts are really going on my nerves!! I paid the entrance fee for gods sake! Beware me of this shit!

And I think that everyone at gulli.com and everyone writing for them should be first shot and then arrested.

gulli.com is supporting usenext, a criminal gang that's *selling* access to warez. And that has nothing to do with "we want information to be free, we don't like copy protections yaddayadda". They are gangsters, connected to the worst scum on the net, including spammers and of course Gravenreuth & Syndicus.

Ghandy, you should be ashmed. You are a real good article author, there would be *far* better places to submit them. And the next time I see you announcing a party I organize at gulli.com (like you did with Underground Conference), I will seriously kick your butt. :)

Yeah, and I doubt they'll get any bigger. Once the "new" about them fade away people will forget about them. That's what happens when you only have one thing on your agenda.

Since youre from Sweden you should know they are not one-topic-only party. They are agains the so-called "Bodström society" where bugging and removale of personal integrity is a natural cost of the "war against terrorists". This will probably alot worse now during M/FP governemt than during Bodströms(S) government. So personally i think that the Pparty will have a good chance next election if they play out correctly. However, ofcourse the risc is that the party itself is one-election-only but only time will tell.
