DTV, browsers

category: general [glöplog]

I can't get neither Opera or Firefox to stream DTV, only IE. And with IE I get bugs: I can't stop streaming, and if I open a new channel the old one is still there messing up the sound.

With FF there are plugins, but not for v1.5.06 or whatever.

I must be lame, please tell me why.

Just use WinAmp: http://prometheus.thinknerd.org:10051/listen.pls
Or, when you don't use windows, you can also use mplayer (compiled with NSV support), I recommend the following command line options for stability:
gmplayer -cache 4096 http://stream.demoscene.tv:8074/listen.pls

Who is viewing DTV in a browser anyway? ;-)

Well, the plugin page is quite explicit about what versions of firefox are supported.

[off-topic]
I'm currently watching Andromeda's demo on my new installed UAE emulator on my iBook G4, so I feel the urge to say:

-> Mr. Hyde YOU RULEZ <-

While we're at it: I have my browsers quite long open. If the session runs out in one window, I am not able to open the page again in another window of the windows. :/
just manually remove the cookies from *demoscene.tv, quite annoying DTV doesn't do that automatically
