hollowman: can you explain me what is so special in the first 2:15 minutes? I am certainly missing a point. So, please tell me.

From what I have seen it seems quite cool. And there are like 12 minutes left. Of course when the hype gets so big that you'd think we are gonna see something really amazing it's easy to be dissapointed. I know now I am expecting a really good demo. Don't let the hype distract you from enjoying this demo :P

It's just a demo, after all, not the second coming (but it sure felt like that during the compo). Probably the best C64 demo ever, technically. What's so special about that? I don't know. Normality is just an illusion anyway. What is life?

What Chriz said. I certainly expect something better in the latter minutes (and I'm a huge fan of Cycle fyi) but these first 2 minutes is nothing more than some, granted very spanky, music and stylish visuals. But we've seen that before on c64 :)

All I see in that video is great gfx, music + effects. And a lot of polish and design. I guess it'd be special if it was just a demo or something rather than the end of the world.

Is it just me though, or is the music only using 2 channels?

I think what really blew me away was the pace. Sometimes it felt like a storm of effects, that just kept coming without any breaks. And we haven't really had that on C64 before because of the slow floppy drive.

psonice: I honestly think it sounds more like 4 channels in the beginning, which leaves me pretty confused.

That is, two channels bass and two lead (one with sync bit). Perhaps it's just Dane's player that is so good at doing pulse sweeps that the bass sounds like it's on two channels.

Psionice, in some places (and especially the intro) I use a phase-effect on the instruments. This requires two channels, so maybe that's what you're reacting to.

Ah right. Makes sense then: it's 2 instruments, but using 3 channels. I was thinking there would be some reason for it - the instruments sound better than normal for sid.

Sо аs I told you guys before, please be a bit more patient. No need for such a hype, especially before it's out. :) As I know HCL, he is working off his left nut to release the bugfixed version. The teaser should have never see the light, the actual demo is 15 minutes long, this is a very small part, there's still quite a lot of sweet stuff to see. :)
And I definitely agree with Hollowman and Sander. The demo might be a milestone in its kind, but with the right attitude it could (and probably will) be topped in the future.

too late, your demo already has to cure at least one type of cancer when it comes out.
