Tragedy in Norway

category: offtopic [glöplog]
absa#"#¤"¤& ..sarcasm fail. To forestall someone can be to do what you suspect they would do to you, but beat them to it. E.g "my insane neighbour wants to shoot me, therefor, I shoot me first and beat the asshole to it". It seems to have been Anders MO:

Quote:
i agree also. i can't comprehend why anyone would want to own a gun, therefore it should be banned! only authorized authority (police, military and personal body-guards for the wealthy) should be allowed to own means of self-protection. not the average land-less peasant.

Another interresting side effect of this kind of head in the sand law making is that it ensures that the only civilians who have easy access to weapons are the criminals most like to use them, also they remain unregistered.

To all the people who have expressed sympathy and support for the victims and for Norway: Thank you.

button: consider yourself included in the forementioned list of fucktards.

Adok: No, I would suspect you are unable to be aware of that. But you have.

Oh for fuck's sake Adok…

Also, I don't get a majority of you people. What the fuck does a Muslim have to do with any of this shit going on here? Why, whenever there is an act of terror, it's always the Muslims that are mentioned either under a good or (mostly) bad shade. Don't you even think once that, that Muslim is just a human like you and me before he is a Muslim. It's just ridiculously funny to see so many self-proclaimed enlightened people acting like a bunch of drunken skinheads with self-benefiting liberal views.

It's one Anders Behring Breivik who killed over 90 people in two acts of terror. He is identified (by himself and by others) as a conservative, fundamentalist, right-wing Christian; he is an extremist. He admitted to placing the bomb to the center of Oslo; he also admitted to killing 90+ youth in Utøya. His target was the Labour Party and its followers. He wanted to induce revolution to reform the Norwegian society.

You see, no Muslims. NONE. Get over it.

So his neighbor actually wanted to kill those people? and he was muslim, or what???

Nerve, there are a very small number of well-chosen words available to adequately describe this appalling situation, without falling into the traps of poor taste, cynicism, trying to be clever by hanging your own pet peeve off the overall tragedy and failing miserably, or superficial 'look at me!' grief tourism. I struggle to find those words, which is why I generally avoid making comments on these sort of threads.

However for this time, I am personally relieved to hear you 'in action' and it is some consolation to see you alive and kicking. Stay strong mate!

That goes for all the other Norje sceners as well :-)

Don't know what to say other than I'm so very sorry. We're thinking of you here in Denmark! :-(

Basically how I feel about this too.

Decipher.

I think it stems from the irony present. National socialists and their 'light' counterpart like 'dansk folkeparti' here in DK have tooted and hollored about how dangerous the muslim immigrants are, and then it is one of their own that shows to be one of the more succesful individual terrorists in a long while.

Also, before anyone knew what had happened other than a bomb had gone off in Oslo, experts and media was allready waving the al queda banner.

button: if that is a sort of joke then no it isn't funny if not then fuck you.

If I have offended you, lug00ber, or anyone else who was whithin mediate or even imediate vicinity of this terrible incident on Friday that culminated in the death of almost a hundret innocent lives, I appologise.

Perhaps I got carried away, by seeing the possible ramifications such an attrocity, and the way it was carried out, could bring for the whole of the norwegian people if their representatives would cave in to the fear, shock and anxiety such deeds of terror and coldblooded murder are meant to induce.

It was just that I started to remember how the shock situation of my hometown( and within hours the whole country) after the gruesome highschool shooting in 2002 was turned into a monthlong media witchhunt.

I sincerly hope that in Norway this will not happen, that you all stay strong as a people and the many folks that suffered such tragic losses receive great comfort - in that I have no doubt.

»no media in Norway is playing that angle. Only foreign press are pushing the gaming/Muslim-angle.«

Yes, some of our german press for example was riding the »muslim«-train before anyone knows any facts. After it was announced that the terrorist was Norwegian they didn't know what to do, but did not apologize either. It's a shame. And the »gaming«-issue is the other willingly used evidence why someone could become a killer. I will never understand how some journalists could be so stupid.

My heartfelt sympathy to all people in Norway.

it's a shame and a massacre, for sure, but people are dying from hunger elsewhere and nobody cares.

lug00ber:

Norway is very close to me but locality makes me no more sympathetic to this "tragedy" than the multiple tragedies which occur throughout the world and on a much larger scale. Why should Norway be a safe haven from that and why would anyone be disproportionately shocked by this event?

Apologies for not conveying an appropriate level of hypocritical outrage and sorrow. But it gets boring after a while.

"Nothing is more unjust, however common, than to charge with hypocrisy him that expresses zeal for those virtues which he neglects to practice; since he may be sincerely convinced of the advantages of conquering his passions, without having yet obtained the victory, as a man may be confident of the advantages of a voyage, or a journey, without having courage or industry to undertake it, and may honestly recommend to others, those attempts which he neglects himself."

button: if you have any africans dying from starvation or blown up afghans inside your troll cave, then put them on the keyboard - i'd like to tell them that I am sorry for their plight too and ask if I can do anything to help.

However, since this forum is frequented by norwegian sceners, such as lug00ber ( and countless others), this is where we choose to express our sympathy - we write to those people we actually care about. If you do not care, that is fine, but please show some class and stay under your bridge for now.

Also: the irony of quoting "Rambler" in your little tirade is not wasted on me :) Well done.

I wish for everyone somewhat connected to this horrible incident that better and more peaceful days will come.

This video is far more relevant to this incident than Muslims, video games, or gun control:

Face it, the perpetrator was fucked in the head. His political ideology is secondary at best.
Gargaj: I think what I just started to explain requires a longer discussion. I guess it's not the right place to talk about that.

So for now I just would like to express all the support I can to the people in Norway, especially the families, friends and neighbours of the victims. Hate will not win.

Very weird and sad to see soldiers in Oslo. I almost got used to it in Paris. :(

By the look of the crowd at Domkirke today, Anders Behring Breivik failed to destroy multiculturalism.
