Interesting test. I'm studying at APS (Akademia Pedagogiki Specjalnej - Academy Of Special Pedagogics) in Warsaw. With little luck maybe I'll start helping people with asperger, down, autism etc.
I always question to myself about where is the line that separate AS from "psychological freakiness" or "common geekness".
When I do today a test like this one, my results are of very very low AS, but, if I had done it 10 or 15 years ago - fuck, I'm getting old :P -, I would have been ranked much higher... so I believe it should be hard to evaluate for a psychologist...
In the case of demosceners, it is clear that we have all special interests, that we have dedicated a lot of time to it, and that it is (or has been) a passion. We also - coders - like numbers, and discover patterns and solve problems in unusual ways and so on...
By other hand, the most of demosceners are young people, and as teenagers we have got (or have had) socialization problems to some degree... that age is the age to learn the adult social skills. So, I believe it is easy for us to score high in that test... but it *might not* mean anything at all...

texel, i think the score will be nearly age-neutral, since one commonly compares himself with people of the same age group when judging how well or how badly one copes with social situations.
Think about demos. You don't directly compare PC demos with C-64 ones, do you?

Adok: you *should* remember that psychological tests are not to get "the best score as possible", you have just to answer in the most sincere as possible way.
If a person is not able to answer a psychological test in a sincere way, it doesn't mean the test is stupid, but - maybe - that the stupid is that person for being not able to be sincere to him/herself (since the test results are for that person and nobody else).

Hmm,. Adok a purely neurotypical? Didn't expected that!
That's interesting. A friend refers to our hobby and way of living as autistic as a joke, but then he things to be autistic someone has to really be living in his own world. He doesn't think we are autistic or even share some autistic traits. Sometimes you meet people who claim to be autistic or aspies (as they say it to sound lighter) but if you looked at them you'd think they are like common people, nothing extraordinary. But it's not zero-one situation, everybody might share some autistic traits/talents and some neurotypical ones. It's hard to define, it's just another barrier we set to our selves for something that is not black or white but varies.
Once upon I was claiming in my blog (or trying to research) I might be autistic. I am not sure anymore. I prefer to not put a title or not but rather refer to things where I have severe difficulties. Things like problems in multitasking, face recognition, problem with eye contact, irritation on touching and few more characteristic traits of autism are high on me and have affected me. However I "miss" other traits like not being able to understand emotions, talking like a robot, etc, etc. I don't have the stereotypical image of the autistic person who is living in his own world. So I can't speak about whether I am or not, I can speak about the little traits that make it hard for me in situation.
I lately think what kills me in social situations and in seek for finding a girl is my too high sensitivity, too strong emotion. If I was a little more senseless it would be great. But I am to sensitive and too weak and they say that nice guys finish last which seems to be true. In my place, the friends who don't have a girlfriend are not necessary geeks (The stereotype that geeks or sceners don't have a girlfriend is wrong. Many people ask me if those sceners, after I show them their demos, do have a girlfriend and the answer for most is yes). The people who usually don't have or never had a girlfriend are way too sensitive/the good guys, so much that they are afraid to make steps to approach a girl in order to not be misunderstood or harm her. Optimus, I'm 99% sure you are not AS at all. As I saw you here, you have a good degree of social skills right now. I'm sure your current skills are far better than 10 years ago... and you can continue developing these. About girls, the same, it just need a bit of practice (about eye contact and gesture recognition, it is something you can learn too)

Yes but that's what AS people are doing. They claim that things like that are coming natural for neurotypicals, while for aspies they have to manually learn them the hard way. So it's all about things that are harder for me. Whether it's a psychological or neurological reason why I never learned them at early age is something I need to know oneday.
