idea: extra user bit
category: general [glöplog]
step 1: add a new field for every user and make a new table that associates ip addresses to those people.
step 2: set the field to 1 for certain users that like copypaste and external links.
step 3: add their ips to the newly created table. (and keep adding if they log in from new addresses)
step 4: whenever someone browses pouet, show the contributions of flagged users only if his/her ip address is found on the table.
step 5: clean up those users (and their posts) every now and then, but don't remove their ip addresses from the table unless the address has been inactive for at least a year or so.
(sorry, no profit)

step 6: PANTS OFF
but then error occured would be banned for a year but he only spammed anime for 2 weeks or so and it was actually kinda funny and there are not so much other spammers
step 7: make a demo about it
step 8: DEMO ON
step 7: make a demo about it
step 8: DEMO ON
whynot2000: it sounds a bit more diplomatic to me than banning, more like a lenient set of rules to clean up the (ridiculously overpopulated) userbase.
there is only one problem: dynamic IP
Just make pouet show a "STOP! No trolling" sign. Problem solved

dynamic IP
since the death of dialup just about no one has those
I certainly don't. Even if I reset the router, the ISP will give me back the same IP for that mac address. How many people have multiple routers laying around?
Bullshit.
step 9: Add 7 more bits.
@QUINTIX: I've cable inet and dynamic ip... so
iv'e dynamic ip too, as for cleaning up the database, not sure how it all fits together with scene.org, but mebbe.
post eye catching message on pouet page, user database full etc.
active users must re-validate there accounts, email, link in profile etc
give em 3-4 months.
send emails to accounts not re-vaildated, your account will be Del due to enactivity unless etc
2 weeks after all this, the purge begins!.
just a quick thought

Actually Derbias, that sounds like a good idea, but with one exception: If no-one reactivates their account, stick it to a redundant pile instead of removing it entirely. In some cases there may be a good reason why a user might not have been on in a while. With a user being in the redundant pile, it's not clogging up active users and when it's reactivated it can easily be added back to active users. :)
And maybe give a user the option to allow the account to be deleted.

word, 8-bit buggery! ;D
Lol, think that came out wrong. Some users might not want to use their account, so they have the option to have it removed. :P
That's better ;)
