Hello, dear friends from the Demoscene!

Bring your Detective hats, for it is crime investigation time at NORDLICHT!

Schaedelproduktion has released a spot-on invitation demo to get you in the mood for this year's crime-scene theme!

The party website is now up and running, you can grab a ticket here and register your nick over here.

Keep in mind that this is a 4-day event which starts on a Thursday! There will be blood--pressure-rising competitions, totally innocent-looking DJ's (but are they really?), there will be spicy BBQ food and lots and lots of police tape, so try not to entangle yourself in it! This year's competition trophies are going to be one of a kind, but it's all top-secret, so sshhh!

You can get involved with the organizing of things or be part of the party schedule, whether you'd like to hold seminars or take one of the many available DJ slots. Just give us a shout and we'll get your show running!

We shall share more exciting tidbits as they become available!

Be seeing you, Detectives!

What about the Gravedigger Competition? I've got my two Amiga games from the 1990s I'd like to submit for it, but it seems they don't allow "remote" entries and I cannot go to Germany in person, so what do I do?

We usually receive a lot of Gravedigger entries every year, more than we could show in a single compo. That's why we don't allow direct submissions for that particular category.

However, you can have your games submitted into the compo system for you while the party is running, by someone who is attending locally.

I don't know anyone who is attending locally, maybe if I ask nicely? :)

party preparation update:

- hundreds of liters of beer and drinks ordered. NEW in 2024: chilled draft beer served from kegs!
- DJ sets and performances confirmed SO FAR: scamp, Willow and Gasman!
- After last year's speaker failure, the PA sound system has been fully repaired and improved, so expect excellent sound like in previous years, especially during the music competitions!!

We'll have more police tape, more rail tracks, more fun party lighting and decorations than ever before inside and outside, more huggable organizers! It's going to be a blast!

Other things:
- The Email form on the website now actually works again, sorry for the outage! :/

If you haven't already, NOW is a good time for you to get your ticket. Thank you everyone who supports us early on, you're a huge help in making this year's NORDLICHT a success!! <3 Let others know about Nordlicht, too! There are already a sizable number of demosceners new to Nordlicht among the current ticket buyers.

We really want to see you all of you over here this July, okay? C'mon! It's gonna be good :)

I heard clickable Ticketshop links are the new rage! And you can register here!

If I put a link to my old Amiga games here tomorrow, maybe someone who's going to Nordlicht could submit them in the Gravedigger compo when they travel there, as their own if they'd like? It's just there's absolutely no way I can make it there to the event myself.

Well, now your entries are already released to the public and thus breaks one of the competition rules:
Your entry must not have been released at another party or anywhere else previously

I honestly didn't know about that, but that means that I've already broken that rule, because I released the games to 17-Bit Software back in the 1990s as soon as I finished them, they ended up on the Assassins game disks later on, and I believe they ended up on the TOSEC collection and Revolver certainly ended up on the AUI coverdisks, too! Brainbow was even reviewed by Amiga Power and given an average rating, much to my surprise!

Thanks for the warning, Britelite, although I should've read up on the rules myself. If Gravedigger prods were meant to be unreleased before this competition, then I didn't know that. Oops.

I'm also guessing that all games on Pouet.net are such scene productions and that not just any games can be added?

In general prods entered into compos should be previously unreleased.

In that case, I'm sorry for my presumption. I'll break the above link forthwith.

Well, you can share your games on the BBS, you can't add them to the pouet database as scene productions tho :)
