Welcome to Srki, our new nonDRUNK production (the 4th one). Ok, but why a nonDRUNK production? What has happened? Did we really get drunk? Is Bill Gates still a pain in the ass? Does Windows SUCK?!? HELL YES! *) DoC did a GREAT job spraying that spraystreamer, Project ASTONISHED us all by tickling his girl and Segment really got our ATTENTION by being reasonable still at 10 pm. Yoni and MIRV grabbed a girl with them and went to a TRIP, which ended to sauna three hours later. Nobody made any VISUAL perception of Howler, DJB or Necrite that day - excluding themselves. In other words, we celebrated the 1st of May - and it took us this long to get rid of the hangover. But what a recovery it was! We were a little dazed off and unproductive until the midsummer. Somehow the new poisonous amount of alcohol refreshed our synaptic links and we regained full consciousness. Howler and DoC and some other members understood that we had been lazy and we got to do something about it. So we kicked Segment. Then we kicked him again. And again. And again. And etc etc. Then we actually mentioned that he should compile Srki from the effects he had made during the unproductive state of mind with Project. Ok he said. And here's Srki. (Segment: The main reason for this long delay is the opposite sex.) As you see (if you don't, why use computer?), our skills have improved since our previous production - Paestro 2. The not so admirable environment mapping (aka phong) has it's place in our menu, and a miscellaneous sum of other on-top-of-the-charts effects (not presented in SRKI) are waiting their turn. To be straigth with you, we will have an exceptionally good production for the Assembly'96. Yes, we are coming, and the high-tech looking tickets have already found their possessors. *) This text was written by an Amiga-user, just in case you didn't notice. :) Not to tease you longer, here are the system requirements. You might find out why the intro didn't work. - -------------!!------------- - Works on 386sx, 486DX2+ recommended highly though. About 600kb basemem. VGA graphicscard. Segment really had to do all kinds of tricks to get this work, as Srki is coded in realmode and with TP. So, all you who have some ideas how to use protected mode in TP, please contact Segment (as it seems that he won't change the language)... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- BTW, did you know that CD is 400 in Roman numbers? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gee, these are fun: --- doc@pcuf.fi howler@pcuf.fi mirv@online.tietokone.fi project@pcuf.fi segment@pcuf.fi You should try our web-page too - it's the first place where our productions are uploaded: http://www.pcuf.fi/~howler/main.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- You got interested about us? Did you know that we are? <- No kidding. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- *** Not-So-Frequently Asked Question about Fobia Design *** Q: When was FD founded? A: - Fobia was founded in the later half of the year 1994. Nothing was released then, though. Q: Have you released lots of stuff?? A: - Argh.. yes, we have. Here's a brief list: Membtro - March 1995 Paestro - April 1995 Youhtro - July 1995 Attack - August 1995 Jyrk:. - November 1995 Paestro II - April 1996 Plus zounds of modules by DJB. Q: Uhh.. C00l. So where can I get these prods? A: - Well, the list of our distribution sites should be included in this package. Check it out. Q: Why did you send fuckings to Paranoids in the infofile of Paestro II? A: - The story goes like this: Once upon a time there was a demo. The demo was made by Paranoids. The demo had musics. The musics were already used in an FD production 'Paestro I'. To my knowledge the song was not released in any other way. We suspected it had been ripped from our intro. After a little hassle, however, we found out from Dr. Doom / Paranoids, that the coder of an amiga group called Simplex had given them this song, as Don Martini had been a Simplex member some time ago. So, the fuckings were removed from the packets we sent to foreign lands. The version with the fuckings had, unfortunately, spread in Finnish bbs's, so there was nothing to do afterwards. Point being: everything's ok. We love Paranoids. Q: Awk, wasn't there any shorter way to tell that story? A: - Look, I'm just doing what I'm supposed to do. Shut up. Q: Ok, ok, ok... Peace, man! ...jerk. Should I ask something.. lessee. Oh, have you planned to release more stuff in the future? A: - That a joke? Gotta be. The answer is: HELL, YES! We're planning to relase at least two productions in the summer of '96. Q: Could you be more specific? A: - Too much curiosity is bad for you. Well, I suppose I could tell you more. But I won't. <g> Q: Hmpf. Are you always such an asshole as now? A: - Only when writing these FAQ's, when I haven't recieved my daily dose of caffeine or when I've failed a course in calculus. Q: Yah, well, happens to the best of us. What should I do when an Fobia-production crashes in my system? A: - First you should check the requirements from the prod's infofile and see if there are some known bugs. If the problem seems to have been caused by hardware incompability, please let us know. If your mail is concerning these hardware or software "bug reports", please, send it to 'segment@pcuf.fi'. Q: I have a board and I was wondering if it could become an FD distro or HQ... A: - Ah, my friend, you are talking to the right person! First of all, we do not preferrably take more than one HQ/distro per country, but if you feel that your board would fill an essential gap in our distribution network things can be discussed... The absolute requirement in a situation like this is, that your board is _not_ in the same area than the other one in the same country. Especially, we would like to hear from sysops in France, Germany, Canada, USA and Australia. Q: I'm running an ftp-site and I was wondering... A: - Say no more! Ftp-sites are usually easily accessed from different parts of the globe, so we are not in dire need of more, but drop me a message, anyway, and we'll see if there is also a gap to be filled. Q: Is there any, no matter how remote, chance to become an FD-member?!?! A: - Please stop drooling and spitting on my face. That's better. The answer is: Yes. Leave me a message to 'howler@pcuf.fi' and we'll see if we're in need of your talents. [ Howler / Fobia Design ] ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- BTW.
