This is for the Amiga Vampire.

Cool to see a vampire prod! Do you use any of the new instructions and screenmodes? I saw there is a c2p assist instruction, some simd instructions and more.

Didn't work for me on WinUAE, and I've since found out that Vampire is almost fundamentally different from a real Amiga, and Toni Wilen has no intention of incorporating a still-in-development platform. If this is some kind of fundamental variation of an Amiga platform, maybe give it its own platform designation so it's not mistaken for legacy Amiga hardware?

...and what's with the thumb down then?

I'll change it once I see it on YouTube or some other video. As I said, it crashed on WinUAE, so badly that even a guru didn't appear.

I don't have a Vampire but, after reading the source code, I think it looks like a good attempt to make use of some of the features of that "68080" cpu. Besides, I like the screenshot. Normally, this would be a piggie until I see the real thing at some party or YouTube.

I'll give it a thumbs up anyways just to piss off the lamers who think they have a right to be able to see all the products linked here or are naive enough to think they can change a comment or vote once it's made.

Voting down a prod just because you don't like the platform is the lamest thing ever.

I second the message in the name of this little intro.

It could be considered the first demoscene production for vampire? ok, I'll take a look at it.

I was under the impression that most people here who have voted for any prod have actually seen it, seems odd to vote for something someone hasn't seen yet.

I thought the votes could be changed by a subsequent post, I'm sure I've seen others do it. If it absolutely cannot, then I apologise and change my vote to a piggy. Remember, I still haven't seen it.

As I said, I thought I could change it later, I've seen it done.

Don't know about Amiga, but this is interesting extension to Amiga, really powerful with new crazy instructions and such

I have read the source (that, for a coder, might be enough to form some idea). Have you did? If you not, then you have voted without seeing and also without understanding. And asking for a 512 bytes prod to detect Amiga/Vampire/WinUAE and throw some error message (or even expect a guru) is having no idea of how these tiny intros are done.

Enough said.

I'm not an assembly coder, never have understood what could be called machine code, especially not on 68x opcodes. But this is a short program for what is essentially someone's IN-PROGRESS upgrade to the Amiga platform using FPGAs, and to be honest, I'm an Amiga purist and don't want to see this sort of thing, to "bring the Amiga up to present day", so is said. I already said that Toni Wilen was against implementing this into WinUAE, and I'm with him on this 100%. So maybe my thumbs down stands, eh?

With the intention of changing it later on, which I'd seen others do. Or did I imagine it?

But you still voted WITHOUT having seen the prod...

Anyway, nice to see the Vampire getting finally some releases.

I just remembered that I actually do have a Vampire, but it's in an A500, so cannot run this. Absurd levels of fragmentation here, it's a pity. That's not really a cool platform, although I'd almost thumb this up for title and screenshot alone.

I was making a stand for original Amiga hardware, either in actual retro hardware or software emulation like WinUAE, and not this new "augmentation" via Vampire.

I did.

Btw, it's for the Vampire V4, apparently it doesn't work on V2.

such a wild amiga prod has not been sen yet.

Its not the first vampire prod on Pouet. But when its from hitchhikr, it must be good. Here's my thumb. Maybe I change it later on, by turning my monitor 180 degrees.

@bifat

If it is V4 Firebird that you have, then you should be able to run it.

This one's called Vampire500V2. I've never seen it, it's in a closed A500 case I got as a permanent loan.

V2 appears to be already discontinued.

if it's not an Amiga demo why is it labelled as Amiga AGA and not "wild"?
added on the 2022-07-10 13:44:46 by rez rez
Tried it on my V4-SA and it worked fine

i still wonder why there is not even a (shakey) video taken with a smartphone if capturing might be difficult :\
counter downvote, couldn't watch (on Android phone, that is)
