Did that after reading the pouet thread about the effect. Gave it a little twist by using the code itself as texture data and extra grinding sparcles, so that's where's the name from.

I included lots of extra versions with texture generation by xor or from 3SC and also a true colour high res 256 byte version speed up by SSE instructions.

Video's will follow later.

awesome =) i like the "tgrey" version most, looks pretty realistic. propz for the "true" 256b versions, really crisp graphics! minor nagging: aspect ratio for making it actual circles would be nice ;)

truecolor version rules :) gray one is even too fast imo, nice texture though ;)

as almost all 256b's run in real mode (hence no LFB), bankswitching and banked mode memory access can be painfully slow on modern pc's, that's why it can be slower on newer cpus, so nothing surprising :)

very exciting product. I've never used SSE for 256b... but your code looks 2 or 3 times faster then the FPU version :)

I'v have added some features to your truecolor intros:
- better video mode setup with VMware support
- cheap aspect ratio correction
- speed test routine (see my results in test.txt file)

+ some optimization tricks not to exceed the 256b limit :)

Very fast here... Difficult to appreciate running on a modern machine.
But otherwise a very nice 128b. Nice looking!

The tgrey version looks like the sun and its magnetic field. Beautiful work
