The trick is to reset the z-position every 2 layers (when your x/y-movement-cosinus is at 0 again aswell)...you don´t need to draw more than like 8 layers this way.

@hardy, good idea :) but this one doesn't even have a z dimension, it's lucy 64b - without transparency - stitched to a meh 2D rotozoomer. i'll keep your trick in mind though ;)
