But I'd really like a windowed mode so I can listen to the music while doing other things.

what guardian said, other tracks were damn neat too! Can't really like the design tho, admittedly, prolly cos it reminded me too much of a fearmoths demo :P

oh and fuckings for making it not-so-easy to get the mp3s :D

Really nice music in there.

One small complaint though : to be forced to have those 30 seconds of fullscreen each time you run the musicdisk ;)

Best musicdisk in ages! Fantastic tunes and awesome design - I just love the little typo-logos for each song. Some mp3-links for hacking-impaired people like me would be nice, though. :-)

seems like many want the mp3 version of the tracks to listen on their ipods. so here comes the first of many hidden features of jailhouse voices... press F9 and F10 during the credits part and all tracks will be autmaticaly exported in mp3/ogg format
added on the 2008-09-28 07:33:08 by mop mop
Keops, I am saving the preferences to the registry. As you know Vista does not like this! You need to set jailhouse voices to run as Administrator in the icon prefs, that way it should work fine. Also whilst in Window mode, if you really want to skip the intro part, minimise to tray, click anywhere on the desktop, and maximise again. you should be in the main menu in 2 seconds.

i agree pohar that's why we put an icon so you can switch to window mode permanently
added on the 2008-09-28 19:53:19 by mop mop
If you're having probs seeing the window mode button (under the small exit button to the bottom left) it may be that your monitor's alpha level is set too dark. I made a post on this on the BBS because I've noticed it seems to affect a number of people.

Can't say I'm too fond of the graphics, sorry Wade. I suppose they were meant to create a dark and gloomy atmosphere but they fail to deliver that very atmosphere IMHO. I quite like the credits pictures though (in the intro part and also for each song). The title picture is also very cool (except for the "Jailhouse Voices" text which doesn't really fit).
The songs are all of a very high quality, Virgill's 'Help Me' and Keito's 'Jade tinted Sky' are my favourites so far. :) Oh and I still try to find out which band it is the title track reminds me of (something along the lines of Kirlian Camera, In My Rosary or Engelsstaub, I've yet to find out ;D), damn you Virgill and Cons. =)

Great music disk!

Runs in vmware \o/

But the music stutters just very slightly on my slower work mac. :( Are the tunes available separately somewhere? The only time I'll listen to all of this is while I'm working, and I don't work under windows anymore except in vmware.

About the prod: Really great graphics. I love it all, except perhaps the pic in the screenshot which is a bit darkly themed for my tastes. The music seems particularly top notch too, I want to listen more (and stick it on my ipod!)

@eye8ball: Seems that you are very close to find a hidden part :) Type brainbug in the menue and you will find 10 other tracks by Brainbug of Alcatraz everytime you click on the jukebox then :) The jukebox will appear in the menue ;)

argl! I found by accident the "Alcatraz Museum" hidden feature, but I don't know how :(
and I can't see any "jukebox" in the menu when i type "brainbug"...
Type the letters B R A I N B U G slowly, one by one in the main menu. As you type each letter, you will see the reflection flicker. If you mistype a letter you will have to exit & start again. The jukebox will appear as the last option of the track selections, so you will have to scroll beyond the last track to see the jukebox.

The music is flawless to the extreme, very moody and professional. I guess with such a list of musicians in there nothing less was to be expected. Without hand picking a favourite track, my ears tend to lean towards the tracks by Keito (great work as always mate!) Not taking anything away from the other tracks though!

The design and functionality don`t appear to be anything new, however the graphics and little touches such as flickering lights and rotating backgrounds do add a lot to the overall quality feel.

The graphics are trademark Wade - sort of a cross between dark, nightmare-esque metal effects :) The main title is fantastic, it`s just a shame one can`t view it whilst listening to the other tracks. (or am I missing this option?) The individual art for each track is again another nice touch and very nicely done. (reminds me a lot of old amiga diskmag section headers) (mop or wade idea?) :)

If it wasn`t for such a slow scroll text I would have said this is the best music disk in a long time :)
