This is really cool. Great concept, style and execution. Probably my second favourite entry in the compo.
stellar. while i loved all of the DOS demos in the compo, this one stands out to me despite being the "lowest end" out of all of them. the concept and execution thereof are so tight and inventive. the high-res 1-bit visuals are just irresistible. only the music is perhaps a slightly strange choice—not entirely to my taste—but its heavy, morose, even somewhat sacrosanct tone is still surprisingly fitting.
like said, personal favorite, and definitely should've made it into the top-3 among the other DOS demos.

Interesting and rather unusual concept and target platform. Great to see not only many DOS entries but different eras (Pentium, 486, 386). I couldn't help but wonder how much of this, if any, was done in VGA text mode, which has smooth scrolling and remappable characters. But that would be 720x400, not 640, wouldn't it?
Really liked this one. Beautiful graphics, good story, great direction.
Nice idea. Unfortunately the scrolls don't run particularly smooth at least on my 386SX40/Trident TVGA 9000i. Even Celeron 300A/Viper V550 (AGP) drops one frame every now and then.
respect for the platform
Even if it has almost no effects for my taste and more of a story and scrolling images, I applaud the effort to do something highres on 386sx. And something different. I will attempt to run it on some 386sx board I have (or even just my 386dx).
Unique style!
I'm a sucker for monochrome / two color images, and this had some pretty stylish ones, so it was definitely my cup of tea. Fun concept too, easy to remember.
Wonderful. I don't care what it runs on or how much of a technical marvel it is. Conceptually this is the stuff I still watch demos for.
Killer soundtrack, excellent gfx, consistent style, best in compo no question.
Animoitu ödeema-coconut! Personal touch and runs nicely on such a lowly PC too.
my favourite
I understand the limitations of the 386, and that this runs in a ridiculously high resolution for the target machine. But I just don't consider scrolling images an interesting demoeffect. I've seen impressive and interesting 386 and 286 demos. This one is not one of them.
I definitely like this demo. Besides the scroll, there are several interesting effects here. It also features quality graphics and quite a memorable soundtrack. Special respect to the author for the choice of platform. This demo really added variety to the competition this year, almost completing the generational coverage of PCs.
Loved this one, to me it felt very powerful on the main stage, I think the music really fits. I think the oldskool compo is tough (and interesting) in that everyone seems to have their own favorite thing that oldskool is or must be. Kudos for doing something unexpected. I unfortunately do not have a 386 to watch it on, was this captured on the target hardware?
This seems very hi-res and smooth for a 386. If some programming magic was needed to achieve it, I'd love to read a write-up on how it was done.
Very enjoyable to watch in the compo, a bit slow but solid design and a lot of atmosphere
ok
Platform thumb, concept is nice, but way too long and too much static stuff ...
My favourite. The sheer amount of pixel art must have taken ages.
