Thumbs up for the platform - need to expand the range of machines ;)
and Tolstoy was a beekeeper (true story)
@tooloud.
"And decide that you want to be happy."
Heard about it quite a few times (from different philosophies), but I think this is not too easy to put it into one's life. Cuz, well, how to decide to be happy when our personal happiness sometimes depends on the outside circumstances... (family/health/disease/departure of someone close/war...)...
At least, I have not found the answer, yet... ;)
@Maali
It is not too difficult to be a beekeeper. Was working with bees a couple of times ;). That's really nice, but needs time and responsability if practise seriously (and for living).

If you want to be happy, you will overthink about it, and you won't.
If you want to be happy, don't try.
I didn't mean "don't try" as a way to contrast with your idea. It's just my philosophy.
I realised that "trying hard" in doing something (including "being happy") is a double-edged weapon, because it will result in a mental burnout which isn't an fun thing, if things doesn't go with plans.

Thank dudes for this sincere exchange.
@tooloud:
(my interpretation is that) It's called "compartmentalization" which is not necessarily a bad thing.
Until it becomes the "ostrich" tactic where you put your head in the sand and pretend everything's peachy when, quite clearly, it is not.
When you eventually vent your anger and don't address the root cause but rather lash out against your peers instead, the picture is complete. Mission accomplished, you are now a model citizen.
The true path to happiness is to be in harmony with the universe. There's this old saying "if it sounds right, it is right". The (inverse) analogy to human behaviour would be "if it feels wrong, it is wrong".
Something tells me we (as the human species) are getting further and further away from that ideal by the minute.
my 2c.

Happines is not just giving a f*ck about things/ppl.
I suppose, if you want to be happy do what you really love to do, respect yourself (and others), have a distance from what the "reality" shows you...
