A pig for original board name.
I am the creator of this ANSI art/advertisement. It was my BBS name from 1991-1995. If you have any questions let me know. I am surprised it showed up on a website.
WeirdAl: Alright, what did you mean with the board name? Does it mean a type of psychosis so severe that one get problems hearing? :)

Sorry for the late response. Deafened Psychosis means you are closed to listening to other people who are trying to help you. The BBS was a place of light-hearted, crazy, off-the-wall fun, so the commentary was often "psychotic" in nature. By psychotic, I mean demented and delivered with an unhealthy zeal. It was all tongue in cheek. Actually, I initially chose the name CyberLink BBS, but I found out someone else from another state was already using the name. A local SysOp and I would often get together and make ANSi art together. One such occasion, I was trying to think of a new name, and the graphic we were working on just popped the phrase Deafened Psychosis in my head. At the time, the graphic's theme was "casualty of war", and I immediately thought of Metallica's Disposable Heroes. And so Deafened Psychosis might not make any sense to most people, but it's not supposed to until you became a member of the BBS and spent time there and participated in it yourself.
Absolutely loved this BBS back in the day. Spent many hours of enjoyment on there.
I'm glad you enjoyed the BBS. One of these days I may create it anew. I've been thinking about it.
